Cubert's Rants

Fry and the Slurm Factory

What Are You Doing!?: How did Calculon's half brother lie down in the bed? His design completely disallows that!

Half-Brother?: How could Calculon have a half brother? He is a robot, and certainly has not parents who could create a half-brother. Even if they could, why does his "half-brother" look nothing like him?

Solution by Trevin Bernhard: It's because he was built halfway by the company that made Calculon, but someone else built the rest of him. It's not so much about whats on the outside. New!

Temperature Guage?: Bender never had a temperature guage in his stomach before...

Solution by Trevin Bernhard: Not before, but he does now. The professor installed it recently before he got "sick" for just that scenario New!

Super Stethoscope!: If Bender can instantaneously burn a couch by sitting on it, why doesn't any thing happen to Zoidberg's stethoscope?

Solution by Trevin Bernhard: The couch was made of really cheap fabric and wood, while zoidberg used s stethoscope specifically designed for robots. New!

Dissapearing Guage: When the Professor uses the F-Ray machine to look inside Bender, he doesn't have a temperature guage any more!

Solution by Trevin Bernhard: The professor took it out before he used the F-ray because if he left it in, the F-ray would have broken it. New!

My Sperm!?: How could Fry feel pain from his sperm? They have no way to transmit pain to him!

Slurm Bubbles: When they look inside the Slurm cans at the store, bubbles can be seen using the F-Ray, but this won't happen in a pressurised can!

Solution by Trevin Bernhard: It's a specially designed Slurm that keeps it's bubbles. New!

I Hate to Burst Your Bubble: Why would the F-Ray burst balloons? Also, if it uses neutrinos, they would simply pass through almost everything, and certainly not cause things to become transparent!

Solution by Trevin Bernhard: It has a lot more stuff in it then just neutrinos which is why it does what it does. It also has different settings. New!

Fake Factory?: Why would the Slurm manufacturers offer a competition with a tour of the plant as a prize? It would cost them a fortune to build the fake factory!

Solution by Kyle Williams: Why does any company have a contest? To increase sales. Once the competition was planned, retailers would buy the Slurm waiting for the competition to start and for people to buy mass amounts. With the cash from sales, a fake factory could have been built.

Slurm Bushes?: If Slurm is meant to be made through a whole lot of different ingredients, then why would there be bushes growing Slurm cans? Even with it really coming from the Queen, it still doesn't explain it.

Solution by Jodes: These were fake trees set up by the factory, just so they wouldn't know how Slurm is really made. It's just for show.

Dumb Grunkalunkas: Why would the Grunkalunkas continue to sing after they are told it will come out of their break time?

Solution by Jodes: It would be different Grunklunkas.

Mystery Whorlpool...: Why was there a whorlpool in the middle of the river? It wasn't there before, and the drain didn't appear to be able to close off.

Solution by Trevin Bernhard: The Unkalunkas mention that they once found a dead guy in the slurm, so they installed a drain that opens whenever a foriegn entity is detected in the Slurm. Just because the drain doesn't appear to close off doesn't mean it can't. New!

Gift Shop?: Why would there be a Slurm gift shop at the factory if the Planet Express team are the only people ever to be let in?

Solution by Trevin Bernhard: The store was made just for them to increase customer satisfaction. New!

Splitting Suit?: When Leela kicks the tour guide in half, and he forms two new worms, why does his suit split too?

Solution by Trevin Bernhard: It's a replicating suit. That way when the worm gets ripped in half, they don't have to buy a new suit. New!

Behinds?: Honey doesn't come from a bee's behind, milk isn't from a cow's behind (well... not really...), and toothpaste is made through a chemical process.

Solution by Trevin Bernhard: In the future, there is an alien that secretes toothpaste that is healthier and better then the toothpaste we have now. But the alien is disgusting and would gross people out, like when they find out hotdogs are made out of pig intestine. New!

Slow Solution!: Fry is able to stop drinking super Slurm long enough to spend quite a while debating what he should do to save the others, but he can't take one or two seconds to quickly save them and return! It would have been far quicker to just save them!

Solution by Kyle Williams: we all know Fry's not smart enough to realize that.

Back Me Up!: Why don't the other members of the crew back up the Professor that Slurm comes from the Slurm Queen.

Solution by Trevin Bernhard: Because they like slurm just as much as Fry does, but they can keep their addiction under control. They didn't want to lose their favorite drink. New!
