Leela's Homeworld Alternate Ending
By Trevin Bernhard
WARNING! THIS IS A SAD STORY (IN MY OPINION)! DO NOT READ IF YOU DO NOT LIKE SAD STORIES! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
[This is an alternate ending to the episode Leela's Homeworld. This scene takes place at the very end of the episode when Leela has corned the two hooded figures (her parents) in their house.]
Leela: What is all this? [She points to the wall with all her pictures on it.] Am I a game to you? Or some kind of even more boring Truman Show? Do you believe I'm you Messiah? Your Mutant Dalai Lama? Stop me if I guess it!
Hooded Figure #2: Well, actually, there--
[Hooded Figure #1 stops him.]
Hooded Figure #1: Morris! Sh!
Leela: (angry) And what about this [She pulls a bracelet off one of them. She compares it to her own.] How did you get this bracelet? Did you steal it from me when I was a baby? Or from my parents? You robbed my parents, didn't you? I bet you sick mutants killed them. My parents were confused aliens lost on Earth and you killed them! Is that it? Admit it!
Hooded Figure #2: (sombre) Yes. We killed them.
Hooded Figure #1: You guessed the truth.
Leela: Because of you I'll never know my parents. I'll kill you!
[She raises her gun.]
Hooded Figure #1: That would be best.
[Leela charges her laser. It bleeps. The hooded figures hold each other.]
[the laser finishes charging and she fires two shots, one at each of them. They fall to the ground, dead.]
Fry: Wait! [He crashes through the roof along with some glow in the dark noses.]
Fry: Thanks Bender!
Leela: [shocked] Fry, what are you doing here?
Fry: I came to-[Gasps]
[He stares at the now dead mutants on the floor, having just learned that they were her parents. He stops in horror not knowing what to say.]
Leela: What is it?
Fry: [shocked] Leela, what did you do?!
Leela: [sad] These mutants said they killed my parents, so I killed them. [she then looks up, with a proud, yet hardened facial expression]. I may not get to meet them, but at least I killed these murdering mutants for them.
Fry: Yeah, but-[he stops and starts thinking about what he should say.]
Leela: [in a soft more curious voice] What is it?
Fry: [he looks down at the ground sad] …nothing. [Think of the ending to Time Keeps on Sliippin']
Leela: Well, let's go. Everyone is probably wondering where we are.
[Leela exits the house to climb up the ladder to the surface of New New York.]
[Fry starts to follow, but stops and looks back at Leela's dead parents. He closes his eyes and looks down; a single tear runs down his cheek as he exits the room, knowing the terrible secret he must keep.]
