Just Slightly Ahead of Their Time, Part 3
By Dwayne Anderson
The Wongs invited Amy, Kimi, and the others for dinner.
"I remember the last time we were all here," said Fry. "Zoidberg
acted just like at home away from home."
Suddenly, everyone heard a crash. Then they all heard a voice. It was Zoidberg.
"Sorry! I broke your television...again!"
"You gonna pay for that?" asked Leo.
"Come on! Give me a break!" said Zoidberg. "I may be a successful
doctor, but I'm poor!"
"Financially or medically?" asked Dil. He and the others snickered.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang.
When Amy answered, she saw Kif outside.
"Kif, what are you doing here?" asked Amy.
"To see you of course!" said Kif as he entered.
"Like to stay for dinner?" asked Amy.
"Don't mind if I do!" said Zapp as he also entered.
"Why are you here?" asked Amy.
"To see Leela of course!" said Zapp.
They went into the dining room.
"Leela, are you here?" asked Zapp.
"No!" said Leela as she crossed her arms.
"Of yes you are!" said Zapp with a smile as he sat down in front
of her, and next to Kimi. "Today, it will be just me and you!" He turned
to Kimi. "And maybe you," he whispered.
Kimi punched him in the face, knocking him down flat.
Zoidberg clapped his claws. "Ooh, I like her! I like her!" he said.
"Yeah, it's about time someone hit him," said Leela. "I'm just
sorry it wasn't me!"
"If Amy is your mom, who is your dad?" Inez asked Kimi. "The
squishy green boneless alien?"
"I don't have bones," said Kif. "I'm supported by very fluid
"Me too!" said Zapp as he stood. "Hormones!"
"I don't know why you guys don't like Kif," said Tommy. "You
two introduced him to Amy in the first place!"
"How did you know?" asked Leo. "Were you on the Titanic as well?"
"No," said Tommy. "We watch your show whenever it's on."
"We have a TV show?" asked Fry.
"Yeah," said Chuckie. "It's called Futurama! Too bad it was
cancelled by FOX."
As they all continued to eat, Tommy, who sat next to Bender, asked him, "Hey,
Bender, what kind of name is Bender? And do you really bend stuff for a living?"
"Bite my shiny metal...!"
"Bender, you can't say the next word in front of these kids!" said
"Darn!" said Bender. "Then, bite my shiny metal butt!"
"Doesn't look so shiny to me," said Tommy.
"Shinier than yours meatbag!" said Bender.
"I think as soon as we get back to Planet Express," said Farnsworth,
"I am going to install a censorship chip on Bender which will prevent him
from uttering profanity."
"Now," said Zapp as he rubbed his hands together, "which pretty
girl shall I flirt with next?" He pointed to Angelica who sat next to him.
"How about you?"
"Zapp! She's only thirteen!" said Leela.
"Then how about you?" asked Zapp pushing his seat next to Lil.
"Hey," said Phil, "keep away from my sister!"
"You two are twins?" asked Zapp.
"Yep," said Phil. "We go together like worms and dirt!"
"No we don't little bro," said Lil.
"Give me a break already!" said Phil. "So what if you're two
minutes older than me?!"
"So Kif," said Inez, "tell us how it feels to know that this
girl Kimberly is your daughter?"
"What are you talking about?" asked Kif. "I gave birth to all
my children on my home planet, and they don't come to shore for twenty years."
"Twenty years?" asked Leo. "But if you aren't her father, who
"She's also from the twentieth century with these kids," said Hermes.
"She's my step-sister," said Chuckie.
Leo and Inez gasped.
"Amy, did you lie to us?" asked Inez.
Amy sighed. "Oh alright. Kimi's not really your granddaughter, or my daughter,
and she never was."
"In that case Amy," said Leo. He and his wife spoke at the same time:
"Where's my grandchild? Where's my grandchild?"
Amy sighed. "Now you kids know why I prefer to spend Xmas with my friends
and co-workers instead of my family!"
Later, the Planet Express and the tweenagers returned to Earth to New New York
"Wow!" said Dil. "Look out the window guys! Life on Earth sure
has changed in 1,000 years!"
"Incredible!" said Susie.
"It's built on top of the old New York, which was destroyed by aliens
when I was cyrogenetically frozen."
The tweenage rugrats drop their mouths open with awe.
Later, everyone met around a round table in the meeting room of Planet Express.
"Ok now," said Farnsworth, "I shall now begin work on the machine
to recharge the batteries of their time machine. It will take approximately two
days if I start now."
"You kids are going to love it here," said Fry. "I know I did,
even if it did take me some time to do so!"
"There's a theme part on the moon which has been colonized!" said
"We can go to the mall and steal something," said Bender.
"No Bender!" said Amy. "No stealing with these kids!"
"Bite my shiny metal butt!" said Bender. Obviously, Farnsworth had
installed the censorship chip.
Bender began to smoke a cigar.
"What kind of robot smokes?" asked Tommy.
"Do you have to do that?" asked Lil
"Heck no," said Bender. "I can quit anytime I want!"
He opened a compartment in his chest and took out a bottle of beer.
"You drink too?" asked Susie.
"Heck yeah!" said Bender.
"He runs on alcohol," Hermes explained to the tweenagers.
"He like all robots today were created by an industry owned by a woman
known only as MOM," said Farnsworth. "I know because I used to work
for her...and court her."
The tweenagers snicker as Farnsworth leaves.
"What kind of name is MOM anyway?" asked Dil.
"So, what do you kids want to do now?" asked Fry.
"Well, we are kind of thirsty," said Phil.
"Well let me get take you all to the fridge and get some Slurm!"
Fry leads the tweenagers to the refridgerator and takes out nine cans of slurm.
He keeps one for himself and gives each of the kids a can.
They all open the cans and begin to drink.
"Wow!" said Phil. "This stuff is good! What's in it?"
"It's just stuff that comes out of a giant slug's behind," said Fry.
The tweenagers stop sipping and lower their can, looks of shock on their faces.
"Pretty good huh?" asked Fry.
The kids spit up their drinks.
"That's disgusting!" said Phil. "Even too disgusting for me!"
"I think I'm going to be sick!" said Angelica.
"And I think I'm going to throw up," said Lil.
Leela comes into the kitchen.
"Hey, I know!" she said. "Let's go down to the sewers and visit
"But your parents are gross sewer mutants!" said Angelica.
Kimi elbows Angelica in the stomach. Groaning, Angelica fell to her knees,
clutching her stomach.
"We would be glad to," said Kimi. "Right Angelica?"
"Right," Angelica groaned.
