The next best thing to Elzar's

Got a note from Ed Robinson who is the host of a new cooking show called Sci Fine Dining. He sez “Our goal is to make Sci Fi food that looks authentic and tastes delicious. I thought you guys might find our second episode fun. We make Popplers and Slurm. We also do our best to nerd out about Futurama with our guest Tanya Inhen.”. Check it out.

Here's a new Fan Art & Fan Fiction combo from Gulliver 63. The story is called Domesday (note: that's Dome, as in a structure having a circular plan and usually in the form of a portion of a sphere; not Doom as in fate or destiny, especially adverse fate, or unavoidable ill fortune). Anyway, the big G says “Amid all this hoopla surrounding Stephen King's Under the Dome I couldn't help but wonder how the Planet Express Gang would fare in the same situation. Will Amy become a cannibal? Will Bender be able to cope with half of himself gone? Will Morgan Proctor finally have her 'Dirty Boy?' Will Zoidberg be able to make it to the fish fry? All these questions and more will be answered in my story Domesday.” G also notes that this is the first time he's ever mentioned Sal in a story.

And lastly, we have another Comic Transcript. Dinkdrinker cranked out this one - number 67 - Tartar House Five.
Third time's the charm

All righty, this has got to be some kind of record - three Fan Comics in a row! Today's latest is some new pages to Inquisitor Hein's look at the origins of the Amazonians and spoof of the movie “300$rdquo;, 30. The new stuff starts on page 28.

And now for something completely different, how about a new Comic Transcript. Umbreon says she finally got her laptop to cooperate and not overheat long enough to send this in by bribing it with flashdrives. She's worried that will come to bite her in the shiny metal, but at least it got here. Anyway, this is #66 and it's called The Board Game Games.
Welcome to the World of Tomorrow! Well... sort of!

Good news everyone! More new Fan Comic pages. Here's five new pages to !iMmOrTaL!'s Welcome To The World of Sorrow. For those just tuning in (or who might have forgotten), there have been a few changes and the only one who seems to have noticed is none other than Philip J Fry. Whilst the Planet Express crew investigate a strange anomoly in the cosmos, Fry is entangled in its bizarreness and transported to an alternate reality of his once beloved Future where no one knows who he is. Not his best friend, Bender, nor his distant relative, the Professor, not even the woman of his dreams, Leela! Now Fry must not only find away home, but assist his not so familiar friends in an uprising against it's tyranical dictator, Mom! The new stuff starts on page 28.

Good news everyone! Pieter Antonissen got a brief moment of internet connectivity (I'm given to understand he's been having problems with his ISP lately ) and shipped us six (6) new pages of his Fan Comic Four Better of Four Worse. The new stuff starts on page 125, but you might want to start back a few pages before that, just to refresh yourself on what's going on and what Fry is using for a fishing pole. Also, we finally find out what that mysterious, stinky shadow is in the cover pic. And if you happen to be a member of our Message Board you can tell Pieter what a great job he's doing in this thread.

And a couple of updates back we ran a picture sent in by Eric of an observatory that just might have been the inspiration for the PE building, but we didn't know much more about it. Well, Dinkdrinker did a little digging and found this photo of it from a different angle and this Wikipedia page that describes it (it's in Liège, Belgium).

And as I was turning the crank to start up the “What now?” machine tonight, I noticed that this was my one thousand twenty seventh update, or 1027. Computer nerds will quickly recognize, as I did after a lengthy and laborious decimal to binary conversion, that this is 10000000011 ... which is absolutely nothing of interest as it first seemed it might. A bit of cogitation later it occurred to me that 1023, or 1111111111, was the magic number I was thinking of. So I was four updates late on that one. Oh well.
Back to the Futurama

Finally, come content! I can blow the dust and cobwebs out of the old inbox and get back to work. So first up is a new illustrated Fan Fiction. Gulliver63 sends a new one called A Day at the Human Races in which we find out what crisis threatens to wipe out the Amazonian race and how Femputer tries to save them. Will Fry survive their evil plan? Will Bender make a quick buck on the side? All will be revealed. Enjoy! Added bonus - cover art and two illustrations which you can see in the story and over on Gulliver's Fan Art page.

And here's something we haven't had since the late time we had one - a Song Parody. DSS dropped by after an extended absence with a new one. It's called Hate My Life (In the 20th Century). It's based on Hate My Life by Theory of a Deadman. Bet you can't guess who it's about.
Happy Freedom Day!

This and that

“This observatory totally looks like Planet Express”. That's what it sez, and it's right, it sure does. Eric found this and sent it along - unfortunately there isn't a whole lot of other info about it, like where it is or anything like that. Of course, my DSL connection is being especially abysmal today so maybe if I wait long enough something might come up, but I'm way too impatient for that.

Want to have a chance to talk with Billy West, voice of like half the characters in Futurama? Well, this may be your chance. We received this notice from Spike and Mike that says “Billy West (voice of Fry, Dr. Zoidberg & Professor Farnsworth) is making a special appearance at Spike and Mike's Festival of Animation where he will be signing autographs, taking pictures and answering questions from the fans.
We are running a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the event so the fans can come out and see and talk with the most famous voice actor from the show!“ Here's their and a link to their YouTube channel.
