Futurama

Not again?
Posted on July 29, 2009 by Tim
Ok, I make that sound like it's a bad thing, but it's not. He who has been busy cranking out Fan Art of late has taken a short break to whip up a comic. If you've been following his thread over on FMMB you know he's working on a full length comic, and to test and perfect his techniques he made Yet Another Test Comic. Bet you can't guess who that weirdo, I mean OC is.

Over in Fan Fiction land we've got a couple of new ones. First, based on this scene from Godfellas, Rush, ever the maser of the succinct title, built on his Universe Jumping Bender premise in his latest fic To Let Go Or Not To Let Go?. Bet you can't guess what Bender does in this one.

And the winner of the verbose title award goes to FrysBabyGirl with the next installment of Izziee. Since it's been a while, let's just say that this is the continuing story of a girl from the stupid ages (eg now) that gets frozen, wakes up in the futurre, and through a series of events meets the PE crew. She gets a crush on one of them and another one starts to think that not the best idea in the world.

The Happy Birthday FM/TLZ Fan Arts are still trickling in, like this one from Fry+Leela4eva. It says Live Long and Prosper. We've done both, thanks to all you terrific people out there who have kept the faith and continued to crank out all kinds of wonderful creations, even in the darkest hours (like now, what with the voice actor fiasco in full swing ).

Things are going to be a bit quiet around the Madhouse here for a few days 'cause I'm taking a little vacation and hope to do some Fry like snoozing, amongst other things. I've still got a few things in the old in-box to get processed, so if you've sent me something and haven't seen it yet, it'll be next week now.
Want some delicious cake?
Posted on July 28, 2009 by Tim
Since I'm terminally lazy, I'm just gonna let MissusPatches tell it: “Today, I have something a bit different in terms of medium for a Futurama fanart. I present to you my nerdish little way of celebrating Futurama's return, an edible Planet Express Ship cake. I call it Cake-arama. I've never baked a cake before, let alone decorated one, so this was a bit of a challenge - a fun challenge! The 26 candles are supposed to look like stars and represent the 26 news episodes we'll be getting.“ Woo hoo! Send a biggieish piece to FM/TLZ, c/o Tim.

MissusPatches also found this blurb: KidRobot is coming out with this cute line of Futurama dolls. These vinyl collectibles are part of a 12-character line that will be hitting the shelves on August 13th. They stand just three inches (76mm) tall and cost a mere $8.95.

Imilianikus says “Greetings from Germany” and sends along five new Fan Arts, like this one of Fry messing with Leela's head, or maybe it's messing over Leela's head, by playing “Where's Fry”. And there's one of Fry and Bender playing chess. I think Fry's a better player than he realizes.

Umbreon wanted to say Happy Birthday to the madhouse, so she sent in a Fan Fiction. It's called Blasted Stars and Broken Engines and it's set in an alternate universe during the events of Time Keeps On Slipping. It seems that Fry's left just a tad too upset to fly and it leads to a surprising (not least of all to him) ending. Umbreon also adds “Happy Birthday Madhouse or TLZ or whatever the heck it goes by...who cares? It's awesome!”. Thanks.

And speaking of awesomeness, Chris wrote asking is we knew where he could find a sound clip of “All glory to the hypnotoad”. Sure can - just look in sound clips and there it ... wasn't. Ooops. Well, it is now.
Welcome to the world of tomorrow

Ok everyone, sing along with me: What day is today? It's Madhouse's birthday, What a day for a birthday, Let's all have some cake. And you smell like one too! Yes, that's right - Futurama Madhouse/The Leela Zone is Ten Years Old today. And what a ride it's been - the wildest ride in television history - and it's not over yet, not by a long shot. And to help us celebrate, Futurama_Freak1 had Fry and Leela take Bender apart to mark the occasion.

Frosty also whipped up a special Fan Art for our celebration, reprising that classic Fry, Bender, and Leela pose.

Wow, Ten years. You know, in web terms, that's like a million human years. In 1999, when this site first went live, the Web was still a newishy thing and wasn't as big as it is now and there weren't anywhere near as many people on it. So it was a big deal when your web site got it's first 100 “hits”, and it's first thousand hits, and etc. Hitting a hundred thousand must have been a really big deal. Well, digging through the Fan Art archives, I found where FM/TLZ's artists celebrated some of those milestones and with a little help from Leandro we found them all (at least I think that's all of them). Nowadays, we get 100,000 hits in less than a day, so I though it would be fun to revisit those early days when a hundred thousand hits was worthy of note.

"Keep your fingers crossed, what is going on now is business and we're hoping for the best."
Posted on July 26, 2009 by Tim
Those were David X. Cohen's last words from today's Futurama panel at Comic-Con. FMMBer Wiidiot posted links and commentary on the goings on there from on our forum. Apparently Executive producer Matt Groening led off the event by stating “We love our Futurama actors. And we hope that Fox and the actors can come to an agreement as soon as possible. ”, and of course DXC closed with the above. In between them there was a rather unusual program and some sneak peaks at future episodes, so check it out. Oh, and I bet you're wondering about the picture - it's by Cx who says it was “inspired by the recast rumors (hoping it will stay a rumor)“. He also created a banner version and says that anyone wanting to use these to support the original cast is free to do so.

And speaking of business gong on, here's some of our usual business - stuff! And this stuff comes from Futurama_Freak1 who is switching tracks and doing something totally unique for him - art that doesn't advance his goal to dominate the Fan Art section. Nope, this time he's got a couple of Wallpapers. So, have you ever ever wanted to have Leela trapped inside your computer's display? If so, what are you, some kind of weirdo? Plus the chances of that happening are slim to bubkis so at least you can pretend she is with these two wallpapers, one of Leela rubbing her face on the screen and the other ... , It's smear-tastic, whatever the heck that means!

Leela and Fry playing in a band is a subject that pops up every now and again in fanon, and here is another take on that subject. It's a Fan Fiction from DSS called Nickelback-A-Rama and is about Leela and her favorite band Nickelback (bet you can't guess what DSS' fav band it?). This fic is also the conclusion to DSS' series of the Fry/ Leela shippy-fics which included A Shy Fry, Pool Party Shock and Summer of Two Blondes. Warning: This fic contains some singing!
To the stars ...
Posted on July 25, 2009 by Tim
If you have a weak stomach for soppy shippy stuff, best skip to the next section right now 'cause otherwise this Fan Art might just Rodger your Hammerstein, if you know what I mean. You see, El-Man moved recently (always a lot of fun) and couldn't remember what box he packed his creative juices in, so to help bump start some new ones he collaborated with Futurama_Freak1. The later did the outline (possibly one of his last pencil sketches ever ) and El-Man colored it in and added the poetry and other details. Ok, for those of you that have stayed with me so far, grab a cold shower and:

Back here in the real world, we've got a couple of Real World Futurama photos. Rush found this old-timey poster for Fry's CoCoa (cures headaches, incomnia, baldness, gout, constipation ... ). And Frosty spotted this sign for a Farnsworth road (or street, or avenue, or some such). She didn't say where it was, but judging by the pine tree, the rusty pole, and my magic administrator powers, I'd guess it's somewhere in south east Michigan, USA.

Ok, tomorrow is the Futurama panel at Comic-Con when hopefully we'll find out the fate of our favorite show. Are they really gong to replace the voice actors, or is this some kind of really awful publicity stunt? I'm not sure which would make me madder. Anyway, another 17.5 hours, give or take a little, and we should know. And if you haven't given your personal speculation about it yet, there's still plenty of time for you to do so on our forum.
All tied up and no where to go
Posted on July 23, 2009 by Tim
All righty then, lots more Fan Art. First up, hot off the grill with four new ones, is MOrTaL-K. And like this one, I really gotta wonder what the back story is on that. Or maybe I don't want to know. Anyway, M-K says this one was hand outlined and then colored in Paint. And the spacey one is a Photoshop job with his own background.

Futurama_Freak1 says this pic was inspired by the scene in Shaun of the Dead where they (the humans) act like zombies to get though a large crowd of them (the Zombies). Bender doesn't seem to be acting like a zombie, but then, zombies probably don't even notice robots, which is good for him 'cause otherwise it might bring a whole new meaning to “bite my shiny metal ass”. I bet Fry and Leela get in an argument and give themselves away, just like in the movie.
"It's not Futurama without them"
Posted on July 22, 2009 by Tim
Still no new news on the supposed casting call for new Futurama voice actors. Expressing the sentiment that I think we all feel is this new bit of Fan Art from Fry+Leela4eva where Fry says “I love my voice. Please don't take it away from me!” So Billy and Katey, John and Maurice and Tress - we're all pulling for you - it's not Futurama without you.

Apparently this is Fan Art day here at the Madhouse 'cause we've got a bunch of it. Frosty sent in an big assortment, like this one from BWABB. There's also Bender graduating (from Frosty's High School), a couple of, uh, AU Fry and Leela pics, one of her Uncle's math class, and a Star Trek inspired one (and guess who gets the red shirt? ).

And finally DSS wings out a could of parodies of Cartoon Network's popular cartoon Ed, Edd n Eddy with Fry as Ed, Leela as Edd (aka Double D) and Bender as Eddy.
Alright, so you're nonchalant. Quit rubbing our noses in it.
Posted on July 21, 2009 by Tim
Self-Inserts - generally so awful in Fan Fiction, generally Ok in Fan Art. But you be the judge, 'cause we've got two of them tonight. This first one, one of two that DSS sent in, shows he and Leela being nonchalant. He also sent in a promo pic for his once and future fic(s) The Terminator Mutant.

And here's Frosty's head in a jar by *does quick double check to make sure he got the right contributor this time* Frosty. There's nothing that says Futurama quite like a 21st century head in a jar. Except maybe shippy Fry and Leela Fan Fiction which we just happen to have, also by Frosty. It's part 2 of A Mark, A Mission, A Scar, A Brand in which Fry dishes out a serving of whoop-ass and gets the point in the end.
Shocking. Ok, maybe not as shocking as Fox's attempt to recast the show, but still fairly shocking.
Posted on July 19, 2009 by Tim
How's Fry going to get himself out of this one? Generally when it involves Leela and her arms around him, he wouldn't want to, but when she decides to draw some fat, juicy sparks from a couple of wires right under his nose, you know he's got to be trying to think of excuses to cheese it. Well, that's his problem in this shocking new Fan Art from Futurama_Freak1.

So at the end of Wild Green Yonder, everyone on board the PE ship had lots to think about. Wonder what they were thinking? I'll bet you were. So did Go-a-Green-a, only unlike you, she wrote a Fan Fiction about it. It's called Penny For Your Thoughts and it gets inside the heads of everyone (well, almost everyone) on the bridge of the PE ship as they head into the wormhole.

Now what's really shocking is that this last thing isn't Futurama at all, but it is Sci-Fi and it does have some Futurama inspired bits to it. Also it's by FM/TLZ contributor Dominik. It's an 18 minute video titled The Ninth Falugon. D says “here's a short sc-fi comedy film I made a while back. There's nods to all my favourite sci-fi stuff in there from Star Trek to Superman - the Futurama nods are Blenton's Leela-style arm device, the main baddie who is kind of based on Lrrr (especially the silly bit about his wife at the end), and Pardek is a cross between Farnsworth and Jor-El.

I really wanted to show that the earnestness of sci-fi isn't at all about the budget or effects, but rather the story and characters - the film is all aluminum foil and jelly beans for costumes and sets! Enjoy.“ Oh, we will, we will. The link takes you to youtube.
Beat the clock
Posted on July 18, 2009 by Tim
It seems like I'm always getting bit by that date thing lately. So when I post this, it'll say July 18, but it's still July 17 here, at least for another few minutes, so technically I'm just in under the wire. So what's the big deal about the date? Well, today, July 17, is DSS's birthday (and he's 4 years and 10 days older than FMTLZ). And he sent in this Fan Art of his birthday cake that Leela made him (hey, a man can dream ). While you're there checking out the pic and having a slice of delicious cake, you can also check out DSS' other picture of a 'Simpsonised' Leela.

I'm keeping it short tonight 'cause it's late and I'm tired and I'm kinda bummed out about the news. We'll have to see how that plays out over the next few days - after all, the Futurama panel at Comic-Con is only a week away. Thanks and a tip of the foil hat to “Deano” for the heads-up on the recasting thing.
New cast? I don't think so
Posted on July 17, 2009 by Svip
Maybe you are a Futurama fan probably being a bit scared right now. Because the big people over at The Hollywood Reporter and Variety all have the latest about Futurama's cast being recasted!

Yes, yes indeed, cue dramatic music right there. Variety has the following statement from 20th Century Fox TV:

"We love the 'Futurama' voice performers and absolutely wanted to use them, but unfortunately, we could not meet their salary demands," 20th Century Fox TV said in a statement. "While replacing these talented actors will be difficult, the show must go on. We are confident that we will find terrific new performers to give voice to Matt and David's brilliantly subversive characters."

So is this real? Are they really going to recast the cast? No. It's just a sleazy way of reducing their salary.

Let me break it down for you: Futurama voice actors knows how much they are worth for the show. They are the show. As a result, they believe they can be required for some higher salaries. 20th Century Fox TV are not willing to go that way, and say they will dump their sorry asses if they don't conform. The voice actors says 20th Century Fox TV is bluffing, to which Fox responds, "watch me, poor man".

Next day, they are out announcing the opening of casting for all the Futurama cast and everybody gasps in horror. The voice actors notice the chaos on the Internet and decides to go down in salary. The fans and the show get their voice actors, and they get less money. And 20th Century Fox TV comes out as the sleazy bastards they are.

So, with the exception of the pocket for the voice actors, I don't think there is much to worry here.

A story stating the same, yet a lot more clear is on Hitfix.

Striking a pose (or two)
Posted on July 16, 2009 by Tim
Good News Everyone! I'm almost caught up. Bad News Everyone! I'm also running out of stuff. Where is everyone? Must be you're all on vacation in the northern hemisphere and hibernating in the southern, why not? Anyway, we've got enough to get us through the weekend, barely. So tonight is a bit of Fan Art from Futurama_Freak1. He says “Some may know where that pose is from, and if you do not then don't worry about it.” I *think* know where it comes from.

I should have mentioned this earlier, but time makes fools of us all. Earlier this year we noted the ten year anniversary of the first broadcast of Futurama. Well, in just under two weeks, on the 27th of this month to be exact, it will be Futurama Madhouse's 10th birthday and it just seems like we should do something special. I mean, ten years - as the Internet goes, that's like 299,792.458 human years. I've got one little thing in mind, but it's not enough for a momentous occasion like this, especially since this is two days after Comic-Con where Futurama is miraculously still standing tall. So if you want to do some Happy Birthday FM/TLZ Fan Art, or bake a delicious FM/TLZ birthday cake and send us pictures of it, or whatever else you can come up with, that would be great!
Happy Birthday Philip J Fry - see you at ComicCon
Posted on July 15, 2009 by Tim
Ok, well, this will appear a day late because FM/TLZ is on GMT and it's already tomorrow there, but it's still July 14 here and so I can say Happy Birthday to PJF, and just by sheer coincidence, Fry+Leela4eve sent this Happy Birthday to PJF Fan Art, and it looks like he's getting his birthday wish.

And speaking of birthday wishes, just in case you didn't already know about it, the Comic-Con web site is showing this event for Saturday, July 25: “1:00-1:45 Futurama: Life or Death?!— Be a part of sci-fi history! Join executive producers Matt Groening and David X. Cohen, and stars Billy West, Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio, and Maurice LaMarche for high-stakes thrills as a top-ranking FOX executive decides live, on stage, whether Futurama will make yet another triumphant return or whether it is gone forever! The very fate of Futurama hangs in the balance! Paramedics will be standing by in case the intense excitement causes any panelists to collapse. Raucous celebration or abject despair to follow the news. Ballroom 20” So it sounds like Futurama will also be coming back to Fox. It it weren't, they wouldn't be making all of this hype.

And that's all well and good, but we still have some regular business to transact. First up is some Fan Fiction from Go-a-Green-a who says “Out of the billions of other planets out there ours is the only one with candy! So if you keep throwing away all your crap and letting it pile up then the planet will be reduced to a stinking pile of rotting garbage that will melt all the candy! oh and you'll die... but that's not important right now.“ What is important is part 3 of her fic Why?

And lastly, we've rearranged the Furniture a little. Rush made the suggestion on FMMB and Graham and Leandro ran with it. You may recall sometime back that BackToTheFuturama made wallpapers of every opening caption screen and there's something like 80 or more of those, which made wading through the Wallpapers section a trifle rough. So we've moved B2TF's screens into their own section under Miscellaneous Pictures and now it's easer to find you favorite screen and wallpaper.
Life In (webmaster) Hell
Posted on July 14, 2009 by Tim
We've played a lot of fun games in the nearly three years that I've been stoking the furnaces here in the boiler room of the Madhouse. My favorites were stump the webmaster, last year's Real World Futurama photo contest, and earning my Webmaster From Hell badge. And there were a few things best left unmentioned that I got varying degrees of yucks out of. But this is a first - making me cry “enough!”. Yes, it finally happened. DSS was just pounding out stuff faster than I could keep up with and I had to holler “Stop already”. I was starting to feel like Sal was backing hover-dump truck in here, only it wasn't loaded with Pandas. So first off is a collection of new Fan Art, one of which is this parody of Matt Groening's Life In Hell comic strip, which of course caused me to go “Ah ha! There's tonight subject!”

Part of what slowed me down as all of the Video Clips he keeps cranking out. This is also a record - three video clips at once - that would have killed our old hosting service. The three vids are Jurassic Planet III, a follow-up trailer clip to The Lost Planet: Jurassic Planet, set to the trailer of Jurassic Park III; Friday of NNYC 13th!, another Futurama-trailer clip set the audio track of the of the 2009 Friday The 13th trailer (prepare to be terrified!); and Leela and Amy at the 3007 Emmy Awards: A Futurama Guy Special which he didn't really explain and which I can't figure out so maybe you can. Did I mention that video is hard?

And just to make it an all-DSS day (and get all these damn Pandas out of here), DSS was doing a little research and noted there were 72 original episodes of Futurama, plus 16 more with the movies, for a total of 88. Now with the new season(s), the 12th episode of the 6ACV production block will be the magic 100th episode! DSS says he's expecting something spectacular of us to celebrate that milestone, so put your Farnsworth brain enhancers on and think of something. You've only got about a year and a half.
Gears of War Is The H-Word
Posted on July 13, 2009 by Tim
Ok, I'm back in the land of technology you shouldn't, but often want to, fix with a hammer and what to my wondering eyes should appear but a note from Whatever James to say that he FINALLY beat Gears of War 2 for XBox 360 and some of the makers get to have there picture and special thanks shown. The pic is of Mikey Spano who starts his thanks with My Only Regret Is That I Have Bonitis!. Don't ya just love it when Futurama comes up in some of the least likely places? Futurama fans, they're everywhere. James also says “So the picture sucks but its all I could do. Maybe someone with a bigger tv and a better camera can get a better pic.” Hey, no problemo, you know the law, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Over in Fan Fiction there's a new one by Rush. It's called Luck With Them Old Stars. It's a little (and by 'little' we mean about two pages long) what-if scenario based on Time Keeps on Slipping, asking what if the stars were moved just ever so slightly out of range ...?
History repeats itself
Posted on July 8, 2009 by Tim
Those of you with long memories, and those who have read About This Site, will surely recall those heady days long, long ago right after Parasites Lost was first broadcast when The Leela Zone was sub-titled “The Self-Righteous Bitch Zone” for a short time. Well now you can revisit those thrilling days of yore with BackToTheFuturama's new video The Bitch Song, about which B2TF says “This video is clips from our favorite show set to the Bowling for Soup song called The Bitch Song. I really like the concept for this video because it completely changes the perspective of the relationship between Fry & Leela by showing how much of a "bitch" Leela is to Fry and how he doesn't care and still loves her, much like the meaning behind the actual song.”

Surf's Up Dudes! And it's washed in seven new pieces of Fan Art from Rich Nichols. Rich sent in some pics a long time ago, and he says “Thanks for the site. Its been a favorite place for me to go during the series and an oasis for me to slake my Futurama thirst during the dry days (soon to be over!). It's time for me to add my next two cents into the Futurama wishing well. It's been a long time since I last sent you guys something. With Futurama coming back I thought its past due I send more.”. Hover your mouse pointer over each pic for a description.

And while we're on the subject of Fan Art, Futurama_Freak1 sent in five new pics. Unfortunately, three of them caused the Futurama Madhouse Select Executive Committee on Decency to have simultaneous cranial implosions, so if you want to see those you'll have to e-mail FF1 and suck up to him. So that leaves this one which FF1 cranked out in about half an hour. FF says it was Leela's birthday and Fry needed to get her a present and suddenly he thought the electric snail wasn't such a stupid animal after all.

Lastly, things are probably gong to be a little quiet around the Madhouse for a few days 'cause yours truly is going out of town to play at the other end of the technology spectrum. I left some twinkies and diet cokes laying around in hopes that it might attract one of the other webmasters. Meanwhile, I'll just say Arrivederci, meatbags!
You know what would be great? A Futurama amusement park ride!
Posted on July 7, 2009 by Tim
Yup, that would be great. Some little plastic PE ships to ride in as you went through a robot wash with various aliens doing stuff around you. And robots picking your pockets while you were distracted. All very profitable. But, unfortunately, we don't actually have any news about any Futurama amusement park rides. That was just something that someone who shall be named tomorrow said in a conversation we were having while I was doing this and me being lazy I decided to use it as a subject. And also the other thing they said involved slashfic so I figured I'd play it safe and go with amusement park rides.

So back here in the real world, let's talk about Fan Fiction - 'cause we've got two of them today, and neither of them involve amusement park rides (or slash). And also, I should like to mention an important milestone (which just sounds way better than the "kilometer rock" that's used in most of the rest of the world) that tonight we have the 1,000th fan contribution that I've handled.

Well, wait - this one sort of involves a wild ride. It's SoylentOrange's Green Storm Rising. And in it, Leela and Fry and Amy and Bender keep popping back and forth from one reality to another and it's a wild sort of ride. Also a very confusing one. Also very funny. And we find out the truth about superstring theory and where all of the missing socks go in the laundry.

A different kind of ride is Why? part 2 from Go-a-Green-a. Someone has been writing mysterious love letters to Leela and several someones are starting to figure out who it might be.

Lastly but not leastly, I'd just like to mention that Svip over at The Infosphere has been working transcribing the DVD commentaries. He's got 1ACV01 and 02 done and is working on 03. Needless to say that it'll probably be August before he gets them all done (note I didn't say what year ) but it's a good start. You can check them out starting here.
So what's in the lamp, already?
Posted on July 6, 2009 by Tim
Three wishes? I don't think so. If all you got out of a lamp is Dr. Zoidberg, I wouldn't risk asking for wishes. Now, three pieces of Fan Art, that might be a safer bet than to let the crazy crustacean try to do magic (or lance a boil). And in a most unusual coincidence, that's just what we've got - three new pics from Vytas_Wolf.

Want a sure-fire way to get rid of an unwanted ex-girlfriend? Then ask her to marry you. At least, that's Bender's advice to Fry in part 4 of Go-a-Green-a's fanfic It Never Lasts. It's more confusion and mayhem when Fry finally gets a date with Leela, they run into Leela's former flame Sean, and them Michelle shows up, scoring Fry on the rebound. You can just imagine how well Bender's advice works too.

Speaking of Bender, this is one of those two-fers he loves so much. It's a combo of Fan Art and Fan Fiction. Both are by DSS and the pic featured here is promo art for his latest fic Summer Of Two Blondes. This is a follow-up to DSS' previous fic Pool Party Shock, because since the pool party incident, Leela and Fry had been the laughing-stock of Planet Express. But then they do something to put the incident behind them: dye their hair blonde and amaze everyone. But will it last? Who knows? You can take your chances asking the guy in the lamp, why not? Or it might be safer to just read it.
Wait, that's not good news at all.
Posted on July 4, 2009 by Tim
You can't have been in the Futurama fan community very long and not run across the names Reba 1X and Ralph Snart, whom we mentioned yesterday. In the real world, they are Kelly and Thomas - that's Kelly there in the picture with Leela, a Fan Art that Sarah did a little over a year ago. Kelly has her own Fan Art page and is the creator of the Futurama Mahjongg game that graces this site. Well, for those that didn't know, Kelly has advanced Multiple Sclerosis and is bedridden most of the time. I have it on good authority that Kelly loves getting e-mails, even if they are short. It's really all she has to look forward to these days. So I'd like to ask all Futurama fans, even if you don't know Kelly and Thomas, to drop her a line from time to time - her e-mail address is calliope_1 (at) comcast (dot) net. You can also use our Ecards, and there's even one all set up that Leandro made last year. Please help brighten up the life of someone who has brightened ours. Thank you and good night.

DSS has been keeping busy keeping me busy of late, cranking out Fan Art, Fan Fiction, and Video Clips. And tonight we can touch all three. First, fan art. This one here is pretty much your standard shppiy Fry and Leela pic. The other two are promo pics for his fan fics Pool Party Shock and A Shy Fry.

And his Video Clip is called The Lost Planet: Jurassic Planet. It's a follow-up to his Jurassic Planet Futurama trailer and it's set to the trailer of The Lost World: Jurassic Park (bet you didn't see that one coming).

Oh, and I just noticed the date - Happy Birthday U.S.A. (inventors of the light bulb, the steamboat, the cotton gin, and Futurama).
Let Deathball Begin
Posted on July 2, 2009 by Tim
This must be one of those shots that they take after the game. Leela's looking pretty happy so her team must have won. It's the latest in Futurama_Freak1's quest to take over the world, or at least the Fan Art section.

And Go-a-Green-a whipped up this short little Fan Fiction. It's called How Do You Know? and it's a conversation between Fry and Leela that becomes a little more the just that. Greena says “is it any wonder that I'm a shipper?” I was wondering about that too.

Uh oh, look out, whenever he totes out the Hermes at the graph pic you know it's gonna be about money. Yup, it's about money. As you might know, Futurama Madhouse is now co-resident on the same server that hosts The Infosphere and they (and by extension we) are in the midst of a fund raising campaign to raise 500 Euros (approx $650US or 450GBP) to pay for the really sweet web hosting we currently enjoy and to keep the sites add free. Well Good News Everyone - we're at 280EUR or almost 60% of the way to our goal. So far, 19 people have contributed and we'd like to say thanks to them. So thank you 19 people. We'd like to thank you by name, but we want to check with you first to make sure it's Ok so while Svip is doing that, I can say this - A huge thank you to long time Futurama fans and FM/TLZ benefactors Ralph Snart and Reba 1X for their continued support.
Maybe she should try karaoke.

DSS, who is usually noted for videos and fan fic, is trying his hand and something new this time - Fan Art. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me that the last time Leela tried singing it didn't work out quite so well. But it looks like she's all dressed up with no where to go and ready to try it again, so get out your ear plugs and let's all pretend to listen. Oh, wait, we'd better really listen, the other picture is Leela with her laser gun.

Did I mention that DSS does Fan Fiction? I could have sworn I did. Well, he does, so there. And here is the final part of New Justice Teen Titans in which the NJT have chased the arch villain The Zookeeper back in time where they team up with the Teen Titans to save the world. Now, with The Zookeeper, his partner Blackfire, and the remaining animals in the army, can the NJT and Teen Titans succeed? And will the NJT make it back to 3009? Find out in this exciting conclusion.

And one more Fan Fic tonight - this one's from Rush who actually came up with a title that is shorter than his fic for once - it's called Dawn Of The Tentacle. And naturally, just so the cramping in my fingers won't have a chance to go down, it's a squeal to his last fic *puts on his carpel tunnel brace* The Calm Before Anomaly's Beast Within Reveals Itself. It's a retelling of the second half of BWABB - with a few changes.

And lastly, we'd like to welcome a new FM/TLZ Buddy Site - Family Guy World. We had to rearrange the furniture a little but we got him squeezed in. So if you're a FG fan also, or just stumbled across this as the result of a Google search gone horribly wrong, check it out, and say “Hi” to George for me.
