OK, whose turn is it to take out the trash? Well, due to many reasons and stuff, too boring to mention here, the framegrabs have taken an age to produce. However, they're now on display at The Leela Zone... which is about bloody time! Hmmm... it would help to explain that the grabs are from the episode Obsoletely Fabulous, which aired last weekend. The episode had its moments, but I've seen quite a few better ones. Still, that's not to say it was bad... just a bit meh. Well, the grabs look interesting enough... but I would say that. I'll try to be quicker this weekend with the grabs... fingers crossed.
Awww... cute baby attack! Well, along with grabs, I have some work for our Fan Art section coming from the colourful and imaginative Mattybwoy. He's come up with six new pictures, all with various themes. We have Leela pointing at that baby in South Park; Leela toasting; some weird picture of Leela with a weird picture of two lions shagging (read what you want into that ); some very thin picture of Leela; and two pictures that parody music albums. As you can see, quite a variety.
Listen guys, I got something to tell you. Oh-oh, Leela has that I'm-talking-so-you-better-listen posture, better pay attention.
What she have to tell is; Lee Robert's have send us two new artworks, and they can now be seen on his page. The first is visible in the thumbnail, the other one looks to be a shot from "Spanish Fry", since Leela is wearing a red shirt over her tanktop.
But wait there's more! That's right, so hang on a minute before storming off to see Lee's art. We also have part 3 of Missy's serial fic Delicious Surprise. This is shaping out to be a really good fanfic, go read it here.

Born to be wild! Cue rock music. Pimpinslacker have sent us a new piece of fanart: Leela on a motorcykle. Looks like she's really enjoying her new toy and it's highspeed lifestyle. Very nice drawing by Alexei.
Today is a good day to be a shipper. Why, you ask. Because we have a new fanfic. This one comes from Mysteryman, a new author here at The Leela Zone, and is titled Last Shot, a real heartwarming shipperific story. Desperate to make one final effort to show Leela how much he loves her, Fry seeks the aid of RomantiCorp. Will this last effort of Fry's be a succes, or will he once more find he's shooting blanks? To go directly to this story click here.
Fry, you're such a monster, but I love you! Well, today I have some work from FemJesse that's for our Fan Art section. She's come up with four stunning pictures that you just have to see. First up is the picture you can see as the thumbnail, which is based on Erdrik's fan fiction The Juicy Details, and shows Leela crying over a monsterised Fry. The other pictures are: a sketch of Leela as a teenager, colour and black-and-white versions available; and Amy as a feline. Well, as I said above, stunning pictures.
Life swapping! The second contribution for today is from Frysgal77 and is for our Fan Fiction section. She's come up with a new fan fiction titled A Whole New World, which deals with Leela being in Fry's world rather than the other way around, which is the usual scenario. Looks like it's going to be a good read, so get reading by clicking here.

Having a ball of a time! I've got two contributions for today for our Fan Art. "What, no framegrabs?" I hear. Well, I've been quite busy lately, so the grabs have been put on hold, but I will do them shortly. Until then, these great works will have to do. Getting to the point, we have a picture from Morbo that shows Leela balancing on a ball in front of a vested Zoidberg. I think the scene is set in a circus of some kind, but then again, I'm probably just making out what I think is happening. Oh well, strange picture, good though.
Party, party, party all night long! Second up is Andrea Huckstep, who has come up with this picture for our Fan Art section. The picture features two new characters alongside Leela and Fry: one is Big the Cat, who is to Fry's right being teased by the delivery boy with a slice of anchovy pizza; the other character is actually Andrea Huckstep herself, who is indicating her enjoyment of her 18th birthday party by making a Star Trek sign to camera. Well, beam her up, Scotty. (Yeah, I know about that quote not being said on Star Trek.) Enjoy the picture.
Hmmm... where is Scotty? If anyone has found a lost Scotsman in a kilt, please inform us.
July 27, 2003
As I saw you standing there... Mercapto once more make an contribution to our wallpaper section. This one is from one of the first real shipper-moments in the show. While Leela stand gazing at the stars, thinking about how lonely she feels, a worried Fry search the ship for her. When he finds her, he pauses for a splitsecond, stunned by the beauty of the scene. Awwww...
Nice try guys, now scram! Second part of this update is from a new member of our fanart section. Alexei "Pimpinslacker" Ehrensperger, whom you already know from his great contributions to our wallpaper section, came up with two great drawings. The thumbnail show Fry and Bender trying to hide themself in the bathroom. Unfortunately for them Leela's depth-perception isn't that bad. Better luck next time. The second picture show the Planet Express crew really "getting into a serious thing" while performing as Blinkin Park.
More fanart, that's Impossible. Apologies for the bad pun, but it's very early and I just had my PC freeze on me 6 times while doing this update. That's not having a positive influence on my already limited humor.
On to more positive things. Impossible have been productive and sent us 3 new fanarts and a wallpaper that's sure to be a hit among the male segment of our visitors, as it feature Leela in her negligee from "Parasites Lost".
The fanarts are apart from the thumbnail, which show Amy living life on the edge, another shot of Leela from "Parasites Lost", this time sleeping, and Fry and Leela "searching" the web in "I Dated A Robot".

New writings Yes, there's a brand new chapter of Fan Fiction available at The Leela Zone. But it's not from me. No, Missy has given us the Second Part of her new story, Delicious Surprise. Apologies for getting it up so late, Missy. But, better late than never.
By the way, sorry about this, but there won't be a new guide this weekend. I'm busy working on other things, so you'll have to wait until next time. Don't forget though, the new episode Obsoletely Fabulous airs tonight. Don't miss it! Later!
In space, no one can hear you weep! On this Saturday, I have some cool contributions. First up is The Voices, who has come up with two pictures for our Fan Art section. The picture you can see is an excellent sketch of Leela feeling lonely on the Planet Express ship. You know, the more The Voices draws, the better the standards he sets. This picture rocks! Oh, he's not finished with that one, because he has another great sketch of Fry and Leela smooching away. Awww... don't they look cute!
Still lost in space! Well, if The Voices' work wasn't enough, I have another work for our Fan Fiction section from Farnsworth38. Good ol' Farnsworth38 has come up with part two of his serial fan fiction The Longest Journey Home. After being rescued and now getting established on another ship, Fry and Leela still have to come to terms with their new acquaintances, surroundings... and each other. Will they? Find out by reading it.
July 25, 2003
Come into my world. New stuff for your viewing pleasure.
First we have a massive update from Mercapto, 9 new scans. 3 of Fry, 1 of Farnsworth, 1 of Amy and 4 of Leela. The thumbnail show you Leela inviting you inside with a sly smile on her lips. I wonder what that could imply. If you wonder too, why not take her invitation and join her on Mercapto's artpage?
It's Friday, time for a good healthy dose of breakfast. Looks like Leela still have some of those Canadian beers from "Spanish Fry" left. Futurama is an American show, yet Leela drinks Canadian beer. Shows she's a girl with standards and a sense for quality.
The second part of this update consist of 4 new scans by Teral. Wait a minute ... that's me! Yep, these are, apart from the thumbnail shown, Leela about to bean some unfortunate batter, the Leela otter from Fry's Holophoner Sonata out searching for her mate and finally Leela examining what her wrist-a-majig meant when it suggested she should wash her wrist more often. Enjoy!
July 24, 2003
A tasteful end for Fux! OK, I'm probably going to get some complaints about this wallpaper that's from the hand of Alexei Ehrensperger, but we at The Leela Zone thrive on such things. What's the fuss about? Well, his latest wallpaper is a dig at Fox, which, in itself, isn't a bad thing. However, what we have here is Zapp Brannigan and Fry planning on ramming the ship into Fox HQ, which is fair enough for humour's sake, but don't do this at home, kids! He's titled it "Brannigan Begins Again - Part II", which is an episode that I haven't seen for some time, so it's time to take out the DVD and watch it. Oh, he's also done two other wallpapers, both of which show Leela with sword, both with differing costumes, though. Enjoy the wallpapers.
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey! Next up is FemJesse, who has come up with four pictures for our Fan Art section. The picture you can see shows Fry and Leela making out outdoors, while a great sunset is on view. There's another picture of FemJesse and Chan with Dead Bunnies tops on (what this has to do with Futurama is beyond me, though... but no complaints, it's a nice picture). There's a picture that shows Leela in a costume dress. Lastly, there's a picture of Amy in her underwear. Well, FemJesse does it again with the quality work... long may it continue.
July 23, 2003
Oh my god! She's killed South Park! There's Leela doing a good deed for us all: killing off South Park! Yeah, she seriously has given that show a good seeing to. I think I can hear Kenneth laughing his head off like a maniac. What's this I'm talking about? Well, Mattybwoy has come up with six colourful pictures for our Fan Art section, with one of the pictures featuring Leela killing off Kenny from South Park. The others show Leela and Fry on a rollercoaster, and a selection of images of Mattybwoy's take on what the movie posters should be like if there were a Futurama film. Anyway, as usual, Mattybwoy's pics are colourful and cute. Awwww!
Who are you gonna call? Zapp Busters! The second contribution for today goes to our Fan Fiction section and comes from Dwayne Anderson. The Scourge of Zapp is the title of his new serial fic, which deals with the aftermath of Zapp's victory against the evil emperor of Carpathia, an aftermath that may not have been as victorious as Zapp and DOOP expected. In the meantime, Fry and Leela have to do some babysitting. How does this all tie up with each other? Call the Zapp Busters to find out. Oh, forget about calling those lot, just read the fic by clicking here... now!
July 22, 2003
And now for something amusing! Hi everybody, here's two new pictures from Robert Hawks, a great contributor to our Fan Art section. One of the pictures shows Leela, umm..., performing! Hey, where did all the guys go? Oh well, if you're still reading this, then know that Robert's second picture shows the New Justice League. But why is Batman wearing such large glasses? [Sebastian]
Leela, a frog, a fox, a hedgehog and some others gatecrash Andrea's party! Today I have some pictures from Andrea Huckstep that's for our Fan Art section. These three pictures feature Leela, Sonic the Hedgehog, Slippy Toad, Falco Lombardi, Peppy Hare, Fox McCloud, also some real-life humans at Andrea's 18th birthday party, which was held at Chuck E. Cheese's (which isn't an establishment, as far as I know, that's in the UK, but seems to be popular in the US). Seems that all are having fun, which should be the case considering the day it was celebrating. Well, all that was important was that Andrea had a good time, and considering the pictures, she sure seems to have. Hooray!
July 21, 2003
Right, that's it, I'm off! If you can't take me seriously, then bend it! Oh well, I've finally managed to create and upload the framegrabs for the latest episode that was shown yesterday in north America, Bend Her. Boy, trying to get these grabs up on The Leela Zone has proved to be a laborious task for various reasons, but they're now up, and that's all that counts. I have to say that this episode was a big improvement over "Spanish Fry", which I found quite meh. Bend Her was quite funny, with Bender really standing out in his new feminine role. This is a must-see for Futurama robot fans!
July 20, 2003
A passing look! Oh well, doesn't look like I'll be putting up spoiling framegrabs for the episode "Bend Her" today, but no worries, because I have two contributions that'll make up for it. First up, is a picture for our Fan Art section from Leila. She's come up with this picture, taken from a back view, of Leela wearing THAT swimsuit while wearing a towel. A very nice picture indeed; apt for the current weather.
Who, what, when, where, why and how! Second up, is a new fan fiction from Allen Tanner. He's come up with a damn interesting story called The How of Fry. I'll use Allen's synopsis take over now: "Fry starts to remember the events of TWoF (The Why of Fry). This is just the least of Nibbler's problems as stolen documents pertaining to Fry fall into the wrong hands. A new evil from old foes has arisen and the Mighty One is needed once more, and this time he'll need some help from his co-workers. Can Fry save the Universe and get back the stolen files? Read on to find out." I have to say that his is a very compelling read with a good plot twist added. Go and give it a read. You can click here to go directly to the fic. Enjoy!
Lastly, Smiley has sent me some info about the Futurama game that's coming up in August. Many of you will probably know this already, but Smiley just wanted to make sure. I'll quote Smiley quoting the "Tips & Tricks" magazine below.
"This game is based on the TV show 'Futurama' and shows how Mom (the world's most powerful businesswoman) has finally acquired a major share of the Earth itself, making her its supreme ruler. Fry, Leela, Bender and Dr. Zoidberg must travel back in time to prevent Mom from making the deal that puts her on top.
"Familiar environments from the show like the Planet Express Office, the Red Light District, New New York and others are used. Equal parts platform game and shooter. Futurama spans 25 levels where you can encounter familiar characters like Leela's old nemesis Zapp Brannigan. Each character has his or her own abilities, which creates varied gameplay including problem-solving and- as Futurama co-creator Matt Groening stated in the press release- 'blasting a lot of aliens.'"
Well, now you know.
July 19, 2003
I've put a spell on you! Today I have a couple of contributions to show off to you. So sit back and let's get on with it. First up is a picture for our Fan Art section that comes from David Johnson. His latest work shows Leela putting some witch's spell on Fry. Don't know why she'd need to do it the hard way by using any witching powers, she could just flutter her eyelid at him... and bob's yer uncle: Fry's all hers! Hmmm... now that she's a witch, is that the reason why no one should make fun of her nose? Bewitched, anyone? Eh? Eh? Awww... come on!
Attack of the strawberry syrup monster... oooh, gooey! Well, the second contribution for today is for our Fan Fiction section and comes from Futurama_Hil. This is the third part of Futurama_Hil's serial fiction, A Birthday Surprise, and continues on from the moment where Fry, Bender and Leela are about to be attacked by the strawberry syrup monster. Sounds sickly to me. Well, to go directly to the fic, click here. Enjoy... and don't eat too many sugary things.
The Why of Guide Yeah, the Graphic Guide page for The Why of Fry is now up, here at TLZ. This is the episode that reveals that Fry is, despite what he originally thought, the most important person in the universe, as he once again faces the evil Brain Spawn. Not the funniest of episodes, but definitely one of the deeper ones as far as plot goes. So to relive the moments from this episode, click on the thumbnail and enjoy
Also, for those who don't know, the Futurama episode Jurassic Bark has been nominated for the Emmy Award known as 'Outstanding Animated Program, 1 hour or less' so best of luck to it. I personally thought it was the best choice for the season, as it was a really good episode. Futurama will be running against The Simpsons, As Told By Ginger, Kim Possible and Spongebob Squarepants for the title. Here's hoping it beats the competition, because, hey, it deserves it. Plus it's another lift of the middle-finger to Fox.
Well, that's it from me. The guide for the brilliant episode The Sting will arrive next week. Oh, and don't forget about the new episode, Bend-Her this Sunday night. Later
July 17, 2003
Making good on promises. Since I'm leaving town for a few days (no, not due to something illegal, just a bit of slacking) and promised to upload some submissions, now seem a good time to do it.
First, Mercapto have made another fine wallpaper. The smaller version of it can be seen on Mercapto's page. Now the attentive visitor may notice this is a Fry and not a Leela wallpaper, but the general rule is: if you have submitted any fanwork about Leela, we accept your other work as well.
Part two of this update, is a new fan fiction by a new writer under the name Missy. Missy's story, which is a serial fic, is titled Delicious Surprise and is set several years in the future. Lilah Fry (now who could she be the offspring off ) have always known her mother as businesslike, practical and kinda boring. But she knows that wasn't always the case, she know her mother once was a daring spaceship captain, although she don't know what changed her. Can Leela reclaim her old adventurous self, while encouraging her daughter to become a stronger woman, and without damaging her relationship with Fry? To go directly to this fine fic click here.
Missy have told me she would highly value any feedback and constructive criticism you might have. So after you've read her work, why not write her an email? In fact that goes for all our fanfic writers. I know they all would value feedback from their readers. Just remember to stay constructive in your critiism.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times! Well, not only has Alexei "Pimpinslacker" Ehrensperger managed to win a bet with a friend about whether his stuff would get a mention on The Leela Zone, he's now sending it. Welcome three new works for our Wallpapers section from him. The picture you see shows a humorous scene where Fry is going to the Sexeteria, and what do you know, Leela's coming out of it! Make of that what you will. There's another wallpaper that's a plea to Fox to keep Futurama going. Well, you can't argue with that, can you. While the final picture shows Leela in love with Fry, with Bender watching. Awww! Well, three amusing wallpapers ready for your desktops. Go get 'em while they're hot!
And then the donkey comes to spoil it! I just love this contribution from Morbo, who has come up with this picture for our Fan Art section. It's a parody of the film Shrek, a film that I found enjoyable, featuring Leela as Princess Fiona, and Lrrr as Shrek himself. Sod the Fry and Leela relationship, this should be the one that the writers should focus on. No, I'm being serious! Stop that winking, Graham. Oh, OK, be like that!
Delivery Eve! Final contribution for today comes from Mitch and is for our Fan Fiction section. Mitch has come up with a new story titled New Year's Nightmare. Rather than rabbit in an annoying fashion, I'll let the description take over for now: "Leela has plans for New Year's night, so has Bender, while Fry just wants to eat at a newly opened lobster restaurant, but hasn't the money to do so. However, all that is interrupted when Professor Farnsworth has a new delivery for the crew to complete, along with a new, faster ship to deliver with." Quite a sweet fan fiction from Mitch there, well worth a look if you're one of the Shipper bunch, and even if you're not one, it's well worth a read. To go directly to the fic, click here. Enjoy!
July 16, 2003
Mutated mutants? Otis P Jivefunk has made another impressive contribution to our fanart section. This piece of fanart feature a large selection of sewer mutants morphed into one. Maybe a result of further mutations? Take a look and see how many mutants you can recognise.
I'll be back! Dwayne Anderson has made another contribution to our fan fiction section. Despite the headline it's not about the bloody return Evil Santa promised in "Xmas Story", but about good ol' Arnold Schwarzenegger. From his glory days, before blunders such as "Junior" and "Kindergarten Cop".
In this new story, titled Terminator Dwayne give the old sci-fi movie "Terminator" a Futurama spin. Looks like Zapp have finally gone mad, and in a desperate attempt to break up Leela and Fry he sends a terminator robot back to the year 1974. Now it's up to Leela to stop it from fulfilling it's task: to make sure Fry is never born. Click here to go directly to this story.
The site and art of Alexei "Pimpinslacker" Ehrensperger can also be reached through The Links Zone. Two mentions in only one day, nachos have never been more deserved.
These memories of you! Oh, I've got a wonderful update for today from The Voices. He's come up with this wallpaper of Leela feeling down after thinking that Fry had been killed in the episode "The Sting". I just love the effects of this wallpaper, plus the fact that it hasn't an outline, which certainly makes it stand out. Also, the out-of-focus look of the picture of Fry looks sweet. Damn, that The Voices must be some kind of artist or something! Well, you can't go wrong if you put this wallpaper up on your desktop, so do yourself a favour and load it up.
Knock knock joke! Well, the second contributor for today is Mattybwoy, who has come up with six new pictures for our Fan Art section. The picture you see as the thumbnail shows Leela somehow finding Fry's room (how did she find that out?). The others are: Leela presenting Fry with a baby; Leela trying to get Osama Bin Laden and GW Bush's heads together for a chit-chat and reconciliation; a picture of Leela playing with Pikachu of Pokemon; Fry stumbling on something very surprising; and a picture of the crew. All the pictures show off Mattybwoy's cute and colourful style.
Finally, there's some bet going on between Alexei "Pimpinslacker" Ehrensperger and a friend of his that The Leela Zone would mention the artwork of Alexei. Now, you may be asking who this Alexei is. I'll tell you who he is: he's the creator of a lot of Futurama fan art, which you can find on his site here. Well, you can go and enjoy Alexei's work, while I receive 50% of the bet money from Alexei that his friend will be paying him. Bah... I'll settle for some nachos!
July 15, 2003
Ummm... I think you forgot something! Well, yesterday Anarchist contacted me about the fact that Fox ruined, yet again, the credits of the latest Futrama episode, "Spanish Fry". To be fair, this isn't just a Fox or US thing, because the tendency to letterbox the credits and talk all over them is creeping in the UK, too, which is damn annoying. Anyway, Anarchist had created a clip of the credits, but for various reasons that are too boring to say, I had to reject it (nothing quality-wise, just a codec thing that's too boring to go into). Anyway, I made one instead, which you can find in our Video Clips section. Many thanks to Anarchist for inspiring us to create and host this clip.
Now it is 2984, Knock knock at your front door. It's the suede/denim secret police, They have come for your uncool niece! Second up is a picture for our Fan Art section that comes from Alexander A Andreev. It's a hand-drawn picture that features three varieties of "Leela", all dressed up in KGB gear. Seems that someone has done something to alert the Stalinist authorities of their presence. To the Gulag with you.
The day before tomorrow! The final picture comes from Andrea Huckstep, which sits in our Fan Art section. It features Leela with Fox McCloud and Krystal, who both star in a show called Starfox Adventures. Anyway, tomorrow is a special day for Andrea, because it's her 18th birthday. I would have put this up tomorrow, but couldn't guarantee that I'd be on the computer ("What... he peels himself off the computer?", I hear you say). Well anyway, tomorrow is Andrea's birthday, so maybe, if you want to, you can send her some email greetings for the special day. Hope tomorrow goes well, Andrea.
I'm forgetting something. I can't think what it is. Oh, wait, I know: the layout has changed. I bet that dastardly Leandro had something to do with it. No, wait, my mistake, it was actually Nick Murdoch (it helps to look more closely at things). Great work, Nick.
July 14, 2003
Consider it done! Three contributors for today. Let's not waste any time and introduce them. First up is FemJesse, who has come up with this work for our Fan Art section, featuring Fry being the atypical delivery boy: delivering his package intact. Hmmm... OK... better tone that down. Anyway, as you can see, it's a picture that features a "cheap sex joke". Very amusing indeed. Hmmm... wonder if it's recorded deliver? FemJesse hasn't finished yet, as she's come up with part three of her Polygraph Test, which resides in our Fans' Comics section. This one features Fry going under the spotlight for his interrogation. Let the electrocutions begin. Feels like Texas has come to Futurama.
Hey, want a mint? Second up is Juliet Adeoye, who has come up with four pictures for our Fan Art section. The picture you can see is a picture taken from the banned scene from "Anthology of Interest II", where Bender is fiddling with himself and you have a clear view. Urgh! Not that I wanted to see that... I do want to eat my dinner, thank you very much. However, it's a nice picture from Juliet, whose work is certainly improving as time goes by. Her other pictures show Juliet with Bender, another of the same thing, but Juliet has less on, and a parody of Charlie's Angels. Well, that's enough stuff there to suit ALL tastes.
Leela feels like Graham does right now Yeah, she does... I'm tired right now on this hot day. I think a raid on the fridge is in order... but I'll soldier on and update this last contributor first. Anarchist has come up with two scan arts from the episode "The Sting", which sit neatly in our Fan Art section. The one you can see is a parody of that scene in the episode where Leela's feeling tired after gulping down some space bee honey. This time, however, she's trying to get some sleep and warning anyone who cares to disturb her not to. His second picture shows the moment where Leela and Fry have been wounded by the space bee, but it's Bender to the rescue, who promptly shoves the stingless bee into outer-space. So, it's Bender to the rescue!
Oh, nearly forgot, Smiley has come up with the real image for Uses for a Hacker number 454, which is titled Lance's Anger Therapy Buddy. So, rather than see the blank one that was up, go and see that one... which isn't as blank as the mysterious one I put up earlier.
July 13, 2003
[SPOILER] It arrived in the dead of night! Better late than never I say! Well, after some delays and stuff, I can bring you the latest framegrabs from tonight's episode, Spanish Fry. For those not wanting to be spoilt, don't look any further. Actually do look further, look below this update to Kenneth's update, which contains lots of nice goodies. For the rest of you, you'll find some grabs featuring Leela and the other characters in this noseless episode. Well, enjoy the grabs and then enjoy Ken's update below.
It's not neccesary or wise to be naked! But it IS wise to check out these new additions. First of all, there's a brand spanking new Graphic Guide up for looking at. This one covers Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles, which was originally going to be called Futurama Babies at one point. It's easy to see why when the Planet Express all de-age. Anyway, the guide is there, so have a squiz at it
The second item is a Fan Comic from fanartist Traxada550. You may recall him releasing a title/promo image in my last update for an upcoming issue he calls The Death of a Giant. Well, the first two pages are now also up to look at, so head on over to the Fan Comic section to take a look.
The third item is another comic related one, though not quite the same. I have given Futurama Comics #6 one of those things called a Comic Review. To go there, either click on the link or thon this large picture of the cover.
That's all for this weekend. Don't forget, there's a new episode tomorrow night on Fox, Spanish Fry, so set your VCR's, alarm clocks, watches and chain yourselves to the TV so you don't miss it. Plus there'll be new episodes EVERY Sunday night until August 10th, when the final Futurama episode will air. I'll have the guide page for The Why of Fry next weekend, so keep an eye out for that too. Until then
July 12, 2003
Uh oh, Leela's happy! Run! It's a lovely day in southern England, the sun is out, the birds are tweeting, it's hot and not a cloud's in the sky, yet I'm stuck here typing this. Oh well, that's computers for you! Anyway, I have some happy work from Leila for our Fan Art section. Well, Leila has decided to create a picture of Leela looking quite happy and in THAT bathing costume. So, I'm wondering if something's wrong, because Leila tends to create Leela is angry pictures. Well, a change of mood can't hurt, nor can a nice picture. Anyway, happiness is overrated. Now off I go to listen to The Smiths.
Actually, sod that... I'll go and listen to a late '80s alternative band called Dinosaur Jr instead, then a live recording of Nirvana and then some Sonic Youth. Hopefully, by the time that crap has finished, the new Futurama episode, "Spanish Fry", will be ready to watch or something or other... whatever.
Scruffy's dream come true! Well, the second picture for our Fan Art section is from Bender-1729 and seems to show a scene that Scruffy would find entertaining. Basically, it shows the crew in the nude (bits and pieces covered... so you can button up your dirty raincoats ), with some characters finding it interesting and one (guess who!) finding it a bit disturbing. Oh, and Zapp is in there, so maybe Scruffy and Zapp shared a third wish or something. Anyway, interesting and funny picture by Bender-1729.
Well, off I go and waste a nice, sunny day on the Net. Mind you, Futurama here I come!
July 11, 2003
Fanfictions! Get them while they're hot! Hot of the press (or at least hot of my webeditor) we have 2 submissions for our fan fiction section.
First we have a story by Dave Vincent. He has produced a really wellwritten story titled Background Noise. This is a serial fic, and abviously this is part 1. In this story Fry, Leela, Bender and Zoidberg are thrown in prison during a delivery. Zapp, who happen to visit the station with the Nimbus, try to take advantage of the situation. What he don't know is people more powerful than him have other plans with the 4 inmates. Meanwhile Kif is given an unusual offer by a mysterious DOOP official. As said, this is a really good read, so what are you waiting for? Click here to go directly to this fic.
The second entry, is the conclusion of Dwayne Anderson's Return From The Deep South. Fry and Umbrielle looks to finally be ready to tie the knot, with a jealous Leela in the background. Click here to go directly to the big finale.
Don't forget the new episode "Spanish Fry" this Sunday on FOX.

A sickly purple! Two contributors for today, both for our Fan Art section. First up is The Drainpipe, who has come up with this montage image of Leela's purple period. I'll let him explain further, which would beat me doing it and be more interesting, too: "This particular piece is a little derivative of a couple of my past angsty-type stuff: it's a contemplative young Leela thing; a pretentious and unholy amalgam of sources like Tod Browning's Freaks, Bunuel and Dali's Un Chien Andalou, peppered with images and lines from Burroughs, Bowie and the Manic Street Preachers." Well, it's certainly an interesting picture whichever way you look at it, well worth studying.
Cute comes in frozen form! The second contributor for our Fan Art section is Andrea Huckstep. She's come up with a picture of Leela with the Ice Climbers, Popo and Nana. Thing is, either Leela's going to be frozen to death in no time or those two will die of heat exhaustion, all depending on what weather is out there. So, someone is either over or under dressed. Also, I'd advise Leela to watch out for that dude with a hammer behind her... certainly looks sinister!

Fanfictions? You bet! The dancing space potatoes might take a few more days.
Anyway, I have 3 new submissions for our fan fiction section, and they all come from the same productive submitter, Dwayne Anderson.
The first part is a short story, titled Fatal Attractions and it's set after "Three Hundred Big Boys". Fry has finally managed to get a date with the love of his life; Leela. What will happen? Will it be a succes or will Fate have a few tricks up it's sleeve? To go directly to the fic click here.
The other two submissions are part 1 and part 2 of a new serial fic titled Just Slightly Ahead of Their Time. The crew of Planet Express run into some timetravellers from the 20th century, the teenage Rugrats from the upcoming show "All Grown Up".
More electrifying fun with torture! Hmmm... maybe I should rename this site Torture Leela Zone, because we have the second part of FemJesse's comic, Polygraph Test, which seems to revel in the suffering of our favourite cyclops. This contribution, which you'll find in our Fans' Comics section, shows Leela facing yet more questions from a mysterious sadist... who it is will be revealed at the end, though. Anyway, if you want to contribute any questions to FemJesse, get in contact with her. Other than that, enjoy her latest comic. What an electrifying thought.
Painful Memories I have another treat for you all, the twelfth part of Kenneth White's Futurama: Universe of Malice, which sits in our Fan Fiction section. This part is quite a sad one, where past memories come flooding back to make things that so much more difficult for Fry and Alesia. Also, Admiral Gordon and the DOOP are still doing battle with the planet eater... which is proving a harder nut to crack than first thought. Well, I have to say that this part kept me riveted to the screen. It's quite emotional in parts, although there are still some humorous moments, too. Enjoy!

Bart to the rescue! Today I've got some fan art from good ol' Mattybwoy. Actually, Mattybwoy tells me that when this picture goes up, he'll be in France mucking about on holiday. Hope that goes well for you, Matty. Anyway, to the picture that he's made. The picture features Leela and Fry congratulating Bart Simpson for his defacing of a picture of Murdoch. Mind you, I don't know why Bart bothered, wasn't the picture defaced before he spray-painted over it? Just hope that Mattybwoy isn't defacing the Mona Lisa while on holiday... that'd certainly piss a few people off.

There was once a woman, a strange kind of woman... Just take a wild guess "About who am I singing?". It's Leela, of course. The other question will be a little more difficult: why am I singing? (Btw, you are so lucky that you don't hear me singing. ) OK, time's over, you loose 10.000$! Buahahaha! Now I can tell you: I was singing because I made a videoclip about Leela. It's, IMHO, a good clip (What! You don't agree! Give me your home adress... ), showing Leela's dynamic and shipper moments, so everyone can watch. You're still here? Not downloading the file? Quickly go to our videoclips section and download it, before I ask you another question (and sing some more ). [Sebastian]
It's good to be bad! Well, I have a good lot of stuff to show you all today. First up is some work by Anarchist, where he presents the overthrow of capitalism with a society that's led by none but for the benefit of all. No, wait, that's for later I think... date to be announced. However, right now he presents some work for our Wallpaper and our Fan Art sections. The wallpaper, as you can see from the thumbnail, shows Leela as a "bad girl". What she's done, I don't know... but she's bad for some reason. Oh well. He's also created five pictures for our Fan Art section, featuring Leela in many poses and some nice bacgrounds... and in some she's with Fry, too. Now, where's that cook book I had somewhere? Time to cause some kitchen chaos.
Some more bad behaviour and Uses! The second contributor for today is Smiley, who has come up with several new Uses for a Hacker. Let's see, we have: Team Rocket Trainee; Brendon Small's Choice of Blind Date for Coach McGlurk; Unfortunate White Russian Victim; a blank one that I'm not even sure should be there; and a few others that you can look out for yourself. I mean, you are going to look, right? Anyway, enjoy more bloody mayhem and victims galore!

Just when you thought it was safe... Well, hello people! I'm back to updating after, uh, a long time. And with me, another legenday webperson returns: everyone, greet Robert Hawks! Yep, our first contributor, Master of the FFARTS (Futurama Fan ART Site, in case you were wondering), currently owner of this Fan Art site, and winner of the 2001 TLZ Fan Art Race, is back. Two new pics are in his Fan Art Gallery, bringing his total here at TLZ to 108 pics. Well, let's hope he stays around! Same thing could be said of me, actually. Those time warps that keep making me dissapear from the Internet for months every time are really annoying! And I still want a layout change around here! C'mon, you web artists, show us what you've got! You don't want us to have a static layout forever, do you? Don't make me grab Paint Shop Pro and cook one of those layout that make you want to gouge your eyes out with a kitchen knife... While you think about all the pros of submitting your TLZ Layout, go read the new Episode Transcripts courtesy of The Neutral Planet: 4ACV09 Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles, 4ACV11 Where No Fan Has Gone Before, 4ACV12 The Sting, 4ACV15 The Farnsworth Parabox and 4ACV16 Three Hundred Big Boys are all available for your reading and quoting pleasure. Enjoy! [Leandro]
Leela owns up! Well, it seems that the Fans' Comics section has sprung to life again, because I've got a new contribution to it from FemJesse. BTW, before I start to describe FemJesse's comic, can anyone who hasn't finished their comic please do so... we really need some closure on some of these comics. Anyway, back to FemJesse's work. She's come up with a comic titled Polygraph Test, which basically is a strip of Leela being interrogated for answers to questions set by PEELers. I'll let her describe her own work: "Concept and Art by FemJesse, content by P.E.E.L. members: The end product is a simple black and white comic strip where Leela is being forced to answer YOUR questions... and that's something everyone can enjoy!" So, there you have it... let the torture commence! Oh wait, it's not THAT kind of interrogation. Whew!
Leela takes charge of a one-man slumber party! The second contribution for today goes to our Fan Art section and comes from the prolific Andrea Huckstep. This picture from her features Ness in a sleeping bag while Leela looks on. This really looks like a boring slumber party. But maybe Leela's boots have those snazzy green stripes upon them, and you just don't know what's to happen next if that's the case. Then again, seeing that Ness is trying to get asleep, she's probably just wearing regular boots.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's Frozen Delivery Boy! I have three contributors for today. First one is The Voices, who has come back to today's world from his visit to the dark days of 2001 - where dinosaurs roamed the Earth, Lillian Gish was packing them in at the cinema (oh those ankles!), and computers were twice as large and 100 times less powerful - to bring us some fan art. Well, he's created this wonderful picture of Fry as Wonderboy, who appears to be some new superhero. Great line art as usual, which even includes the effects of flying through the air. Well, question is: will the deliveries come on time now?
For the love of God, don't tell him it's fool's gold! Second up is Mattybwoy, who has come up with seven new pictures for our Fan Art section. Let's see what he's added to his page with his usual colourful pics: Zoidberg made of Gold; Leela with an afro; the moment when Leela wakes up to find Fry by her side in the episode "The Sting"; the PE crew sweating... ewww!; Fry, Leela and Bender in a big cup of Expresso; a horrible experiment where parts of the PE crew are grafted together to make a mess; and a picture that's inspired by Lennie Asserholt's fan fiction, No More Secrets. Well, there's a lot there to take in, so take them in.
All good things come to an end! Well, it had to happen, but it's a fact of life. What am I on about? Well, Frysgal77 has come up with the last part of her fan fiction, which goes under the title Time Runs Short. Well, I won't spoil any further, because I'm sure you'll want to find out for yourself what happens to terminally ill Leela. Poor thing. You can find out by clicking here.
A disturbing vision of things to come. Mercapto has send us some more of his work. This time it's 2 new entries for our wallpaper section.
The one in the thumbnail shows Leela getting a brief look at what could've been (or as we now know what will be) if she weren't a mutant.
The second one feature Fry, Leela and Bender while they're watching "The Real World: The Sun". I guess even in a thousand years the scourge of reality shows will still haunt us. Is there no way to stop them? I really hope so. Looks like Leela shares that hope.

Nana-nana-nana-nanaa! Nana-nana-nana-nanaa! Update! And there's a couple of things in this update too. First of all, the newest Graphic Guide has been released as promised. Most of you that know which order the episodes have played in should know that it covers the superhero themed episode, Less Than Hero. I've even got the lyrics to the New Justice Team theme songs in it. Hope those of you that like this episode enjoy it.
Secondly, I have one of those rare things known as Fan Comics too. Well, not exactly. Just one title/promo image from Traxada550 for an upcoming comic he's going to produce for TLZ soon called The Death of a Giant. To check that out, just click on the thumbnail above.
Well, that's all from me for this weekend. Next weekend should see the Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles guide page hopefully. Until then...
Happy Mel Gibson Day! Yeah, today is the day when folk from the US celebrate the day when Mel Gibson, singlehandedly and heroically, defeated the evil British Nazi-Satanists, led by a moustache-twirling Terry Thomas-type gentleman, to gain their independence. Oh, wait, that's a Hollywood-style version... or something. Anyway, whatever view is your cup of Boston tea, I have a fan art to show you celebrating this day by David Johnson. His picture is quite a funny piece that shows Farnsworth giving Fry something to woo Leela with for this very special day. Well, hope you enjoy David's picture and this day... especially if you're from the US. Anyway, it's a good excuse to get drunk and stuff, I suppose.
Happy 4th of July! Top TLZ Fan Art contributor FemJesse has given us five pictures, one of which celebrates the event in style. The others, mostly in anime style, include Fry asking Leela for something, a Cowboy Beebop parody image, Leela with shooting Fry and doing something really weird with matches, and an image where Fry and Universe 1 Fry are both watching something rather interesting........ Leela and Universe 1 Leela making out!! Yes, you read correctly.
Anyway, they're all excellent pics, though why I need to tell you is beyond me! This is FemJesse after all. She rocks!!
Now for a little news. Apparently Fox has got the episodes Spanish Fry and Bend-her on the 13th and 20th of July respectively, so look out for those episodes. Also, in case you don't know, the final episode is due to air on August 10th. Sad, but true. Oh well...

The crew in skimpy outfits Yes, that's right. I've got some more pieces of Fan Art from top-notch artist Graham Dawson, who have given us a few anime-style Futurama pics lately. And these great works are no exception. We've got Leela and Amy in bikini's, like the thumbnail shows, both in a coloured and non-coloured version. Very indeed! And just to show that he's not being sexist, Graham has also given us a picture of Fry, the Professor and Scruffy in..... well... not much, really. Well.... to check out these pictures, just lick on the thumbnail above, and enjoy
Hurry up, Graham, publish these before 2002! Well, due to some weird problem that ended up dating The Voices' emails to 2001, I have some very late pictures by him for our Fan Art section. Either The Voices went back in time and sent them to me to mess with my brain, my email program had a fit and decided it wanted to mess me about, The Voices email program wanted to do like-wise, or it really is 2001 and all of 2002 and 2003 was a weird dream! Anyway, whatever the problem was, I have them now, so let's see what we've got (all are line art): Leela being handed Fry's jacket in the episode "The Sting"; Leela being chased by Agent Smith; Fry running from bullets, presumably from the spooky Agent Smith; and two pictures, one of Fry and the other of Leela, parodying the Matrix posters. All great works from a great artist.
Tomorrow I'll have some more great art... one of which will be fitting for tomorrow's date, another that may not be so fitting, but'll certainly cause a stir. You'll find out tomorrow... I'm not telling more.
July 1, 2003
A smile to brighten your day. I got some art from Mercapto a new submitter to TLZ. He send us 4 spiffy looking scans. 1 featuring a young Fry and 3 of them featuring Leela in various emotional states, ranging from crying to the one you see in the thumbnail. I must say these scans look great and I hope we'll see more work from the hand of Mercapto here at TLZ.
Well, this picture certainly brightened my day. Now I'm ready to endure a few more days of traditional Danish summer weather: rain, rain and rain.
We'll be back! Today I have two contributions for The Leela Zone, both of which deserve their place, too. I'll start with Morbo's latest contribution to our Fan Art section. His latest work parodies the poster for the upcoming Terminator sequel, "Terminator 3 - Rise of the Machines". It shows Leela and Zoidberg as cybernetic androids... quite scary, indeed! Great picture, though. Anyway, the film is scheduled to come out tomorrow, which should please some people. Personally I found the first one to be better than the first sequel, mainly because it allowed Arnie to display his best acting talents: to act like a robot and not to utter much. Well, we'll see if this sequel is better or, more likely in my opinion, worse than the original.
Still no more fun and games! Hmmm... talking about sequels, I have one from Wonderbee31's fan fiction work which was titled "No More Fun and Games". This one takes the title No More Fun and Games 2, and, as you guessed, continues with Fry's aim to straighten up and win Leela's and his own respect by working at the Galactic Bureau of Bureaucracy for a year. However, he's feeling lonely and misses Leela... and she does likewise for him. Awww! Anyway, it's a nice story and well worth reading, especially for you Shippers out there. To go directly to the fic, click here. Enjoy!
