"It's just edited porn"

Wow, some Fan Art for a change! Leading off with two new ones from Futurama_Freak1. The above quote was his description of 'em. That's what I get for asking, next time I'll know better and make something up.
Onuki sends this one. The caption says “My Story” and in the pic are Onuki, Fry-1, and Fry-A (not necessarily in that order), Trenton Sands on the right, and in the upper left, sitting on a cloud, or a really fluffy bean bag, is Hailey Sands.
Back to the Futurama

Well, I'm back in the land of the living, and that means it's time to get back to work. And speaking of being back to the land of the living, our favorite TV shows is back again and, at the risk of editorializing, off to a really good start. At least that's what our scientific opinion poll is showing on the Madhouse Message Board. You can see what people are saying and even weigh in yourself here.
So now that we've had another metaphorical rebirth, how about we kill someone off? That can only mean on thing - yep, that's right, Dwayne Anderson is back with the next installment in his Fan Fiction Matters of Life and Death. This is part 11, subtitled Jamaican Me Sweat. Nothing subtle there about who the lucky victim is in this one, is there? Or is there? Guess you'll just have to read it and find out. Warning, depictions of gruesome death await us all.
And if Photoshopping a couple of images together counts as Fan Art, well, here you go. Rush knocked together this promo pic for the fan fic he did a while ago, Magical Shiny Land.
Coming Soon: Season 7!
Posted on June 19, 2012 by Tim
Yep, just a couple more days and the first two all new episodes of Season 7 will be out! And what, you might wonder, will the oldest living Futurama fansite be doing to celebrate? Well, let me just clue you in on that - a sneak preview of coming attractions - absolutely nothing! Unless, that is, one of the other long lost webmasters crawls out from under a moon rock. Because, in what must count as the longest streak of great moments in bad timing, yours truly will be off line for the next few days, right when the new epps come out. This has happened at least three years running now. So anyway, everyone be sure to tune in and, if you're in the US of A anyway, make note of who sponsors the show and go buy truckloads of their quote unquote merchandise - that's how TV shows survive here in the good ole' US of A.
And a couple of tidbits of our regular business, Rush has three new Fan Fictions. To briefly summarize all three plots Bender does unusual things and MLP is probably involved. The fics are called Legion, Shiny-O-Rama, and Bender's Shiny Adventure.
And that's all I have time for tonight. Those of you that have sent stuff that hasn't appeared yet, please be patient, I'll get to it early next week. See ya on the other side.
Benders to the rescue (or not)
Posted on June 15, 2012 by Tim
Todays' theme is Bender to the rescue. Now, that might sound a little odd 'cause Bender isn't known for lifting a finger to help out, at least until someone greases whatever passes for his palms. But let's check some variations on a theme anyway, just for the fun of it. First up is this Fan Art that Onuki drew, it's Bender rescuing Fry from a lava pit. He sez it was drawn by request of Trenton Sands, who we'll hear a bit more from in a bit.
Onuki also has a couple of new Fan Fictions. They are Do The Hustle! Romance conceptualization in which Shunsuke gets world-wide televised humiliation when Fry & Bender record him waking up in just his underwear & getting wedgied by them. At the risk of editorializing, the thesis of this work seems to equate "romance" with wedgies. The other fic is I'm looking for the prisms of sunlight that slip through the gaps in my fingers which features Fry, Bender, and Zoidberg joining a circus, getting fired, and starting their own circus. It's based on a idea by Trenton Sands, who we'll hear a bit more from in a bit.
By the way, did I mention Trenton Sands? He too has a new fic hot off the wire. It's called New London Calling and it tells the story of what happens when Fry, Leela, and Bender are sent to New London, a planet that is like Victorian England where humans and robots co-exist. After the delivery they want to join the others who all went to California, except Fry and Leela are kidnapped by a renegade biker gang and Bender begrudgingly teams up with a British Intelligence Agent who's based on Asheden, a novel by William Somerset Magham. This fanfic is a parody of British Literature. <- pretend this smiley has a monocle
More readin' material

If there's one thing you'll find here on the Madhouse that you won't find anywhere else it's Comic Transcripts and that's mostly thanks to the hard work of Umbreon and Dinkdrinker. And I mention this, not out of some perverse randomness, laziness, or sleep deprivation; but because two of those are responsible for driving Umbry to crank out and eventually send in the latest, comic #59, titled How To Secede Without Really Trying.
And the Fan Fiction mills just keep cranking them out. Onuki has two new ones: first is his next shot at longest title Fake it to look like a blue ticket but strike with the red ticket which was inspired by the episode Law & Oracle where Shunsuke, Fry-A, Fry-1, Bender-A, Bender-1, Leela, & Zoidberg join the police academy & attempt to capture a robber dressed as a woman. And then there's the muck more conventional length title of Playhouse 180 which is based on a idea by Trenton Sands in which Leela makes another kids tv show to make up for what she did with "Rumbledy-Hump". Insert usual Onuki fic warning here (although I understand that no hedgehogs are involved).
There's also a couple from Lauren Smiles, both continuations of stories already in progress. First is part 5 of Love At Long Last which is subtitled Engagement Party. She also sends part 2 of FutureSmiles, a what-if I went to the future kind of tale.

Got a huge, steamin' load of Fan Fiction today:
From dinkdrinker comes a story called Behind Closed Doors. It takes us to The Hip Joint about thirty minutes before closing time. People and aliens are in various stages of drunkenness and many are 'hooking up' with someone, or something. Bender, Fry, and Leela are watching the show as Bender pontificates about the couples they see. But it turns out Bender doesn't know quite as much as he thinks he does.
Rush has two new ones: Last Night's CCTV in which Farnsworth review the previous evening's security recordings looking any unusual goings on. He doesn't find any. No sireee. And then there's Question Of The Rama in which Fry, much like some annoying little relative I'm sure we can all identify with, asks Bender a whole bunch of questions.
An Onuki also has two, both based on fics of the same name by Trenton Sands and are used with permission. The first is Cult 55, part 2 in which the Planet Express crew finishes their U.S. tour in South Carolina and Shunsuke thinks he won a contest buts ends up getting kidnapped. The second is Delivery To Mobius, part 2 where The crew returns to Mobius & finally meet Sonic the hedgehog. The usual word of waring with Onuki's fics applies: they feature the author in a "relationship" with various Frys, and possibly a headghog or something so if you're sensitive about such things please return to the top of the update.
Comics and Crazies

Yeah, I know, same picture as last time, only this time, you can actually sorta figure out what it's about. Because, you see, we have a bunch (and by "bunch" I mean ten) new pages to Pieter Antonissen's fan comic Four Better or Four Worse. The new stuff starts on page 64, and hold on to your innards, 'cause there's some really good in there.
And now, what if Fry were the only sane man on Earth, and what if he had two Leela's to contend with? That just sounds like a whole pile of trouble doesn't it? Well, it is, and you can catch up on it the latest segment of MC's Fan Fiction Stygia. That latest is part 6 in which Bender's robot revolution begins when he finds Sylvester's underground base. Plus, Zapp and Amy find new sides to themselves as they continue their mission to rescue Fry and Leela. Check it out.
Eveyone's a comic
Posted on June 3, 2012 by Tim
Ok, today we've got some fun and exciting stuff on the Fan Comic front. We don't have any actual fan comics just quite yet, but we do have two teasers. This first one is from Alanquest who sends this sneak peek at a comic he's working on called Ceres Secret. No idea what it's about yet but hopefully we'll begin seeing it later this month.
And this sneak preview comes from Pieter Antonissen, who has the long running fan comic Four Better or Four Worse that features Fry, Leela, Amy, and Kif stranded on what looks like a tropical island. I'm told we'll have some new panels shortly, but meanwhile this will have to suffice.
And what would a FM/TLZ news update be without Fan Fiction? It just wouldn't feel right, would it? So, just to keep order in the universe, here's a new fic from Lauren Smiles that's called FutureSmiles. Did I say it would keep the universe in order? Ours perhaps, but something goes wrong in a couple of others 'cause this story is about what happens when the authoress and Matt Smith of Doctor Who fame meet Futurama. This is part 1 and it's subtitled The Day I Arrive.
More fan fics to keep you a prisoner to updating your website where you will stay for the rest of your pitiful life MWAHAHAHAHA
Posted on June 2, 2012 by Tim
THAT was the subject line of a recent e-mail. It pretty much sums up how it's been lately (which is a good problem to have). But, the writer did miss a bet on one point, it isn't my website. And just to show shlim that Fan Fiction isn't the only thing keeping me prisoner, here's some new Fan Art, complete with a (slightly altered) art history lesson that would do Zoidberg proud. This is from kaspired, and I'm just gonna let him tell it from here: “It's called Living Sculpture and it's based on Piero Manzoni, who was a conceptual artist from the late 1950’s and early 1960’s and is famous for his parodies of the established art world. Manzoni is most famous for a series of artworks that call into question the nature of the art object, directly prefiguring conceptual art. His work eschews normal artist's materials, instead using everything from rabbit fur to canvases featuring, not any particular color but texture, in order to "tap mythological sources and to realize authentic and universal values". He was well known for his “Magical Pedestal”, where anybody who stands on it becomes a piece of “living sculpture” artwork. Following this train of thought, he would pose a model, and since the model was the art piece, he would place his signature directly on the model. Here he is photographed signing an unidentified model.”
Lord Nibbler returns with a new Fan Art. This one doesn't have quite as involved back story as that last one, but there is a tale to tell about it; and that is that it is a Simpson framegrab made into Leela.
And to complete our trifecta of Fan Art today, Rush sends this one that he calls Meme Art. I think the meme in question is pretty obvious. But wait! There's more! Just to make sure I'm still shackled to the Fan Fiction grinder outer, Rush also supplied four of those. They are:
- Green Love, in which Farnsworth talks to Amy about her relationship with Kif (Rush didn't say but I'm guessing this was inspired by either Proposition Infinity or a week of binge drinking)
- Rama of Doom which shows what can happen (hint: nothing good) when Farnsworth sits alone thinking
- Universe Jumping Bender Forever that follows UJB through more Multiverse journeys
- And lastly, U-J-Bender Returns To Twilight for all you “fans” of Twilight who don't think it's been bashed enough, UJB drops in to beat on it a little more.
