Time to take the Status Quo into a dark alley and do very nasty things to it!

My fellow Earthticans, I have a very important announcement to make. Futurama Madhouse is moving. We've reached the limit of what our current host can do for us, and with 2GB of data in over 40,000 files, it's time to find a new place to call home.
And we're not going to be alone in that home: Futurama Madhouse and The Infosphere are joining forces. No, we're not merging the sites, though you will see some tighter integration between us. We're launching a project that we hope will benefit every Futurama Fan Site that wants to be a part of it, the FutraMedia Foundation.
The point of FutraMedia is to allow better collaboration between Fan Sites. Right now, Fan Sites are a bit isolated from each other, and crossover collaboration is the exception, not the rule. While we do link to each other pretty often, you don't precisely see a box to search The Infosphere in every page of the Madhouse, do you? And it would certainly benefit our visitors to have it. And when the Futurama DVD movies were released, their Marketing campaign had to contact Fan Sites individually, and they probably didn't talk to every site that we, as a community, can reach. With FutraMedia, they only have to reach one of us, and they'll reach us all.
So FutraMedia should benefit both our visitors, and ourselves. You get the strength of many Fan Sites working together to bring you information and content every time you visit any of the fansites, and we get a way to throw ideas at each other to make sure our sites get better all the time. I'm happy that The Futurama Point and Space Station Futurama seem willing to join us in this experiment and see where it leads us.
The first thing you will notice is that our Message Board has already moved into a new location. We decided to move it ahead of time to avoid keeping two copies of the database out of sync with each other and then having to lose a lot of posts. We tried to set the board to read-only mode while moving, only to find out that it can't be set to read-only mode, so if you posted in the last couple of hours, it was probably lost. Sorry about that.
Futurama Madhouse itself will be loading from the new server within a week. If you see us flicker out of existance in a few days, don't panic! It'll be just a temporary inconvenience, which will be well worth it. Here's hoping to an exciting journey to a great destination!
Really alternate pairings
Posted on April 30, 2009 by Tim
Ok, tonight I'm keeping it short 'cause I'm pressed for time, so we've got three pics focusing on a family scene with a human Beelzebot and Leela now there's and alternate pairing that doesn't come up very often. They're by MissusPatches, whos Fan Art reveals something of a specialty in alternate pairings. I'll let her tell it from here: “This is Morris and Persephone, the lovechildren of Beelz and Leela obviously. The girl on the left is Persephone and the boy on the right is Morris. If it wasn't obvious, Leela named Morris after her dad and Beelz gave Persephone her name 'cause he loved the IRONYY.”. There's a couple of other cute family type pictures also, if anything involving the Robot Devil can be though of case cute or family. Anyway, one is Beelz and Leela with a third kid of theirs, whose name she hasn't decided yet; and the last is on in which Doug the Ratbot finds out that watching his boss's children is not an easy task.
I bid four hearts
Posted on April 29, 2009 by Tim
Here's a pic by Karl Palmer of another funny moment in Futurama when Bender realizes he's been conned out of his ass plate in Devil's Hands. Kind of brings a whole new meaning to the term “manhole cover”, doesn't it?
How many hearts does Dr. Zoidberg have? Two? Three? Four? A hundred and thirty seven? Well, however many he has, he's in danger of loosing some of them in this new Fan Fiction that xkathyx07x is writing. It's called Zoidberg's Love and, you see, Bender gets fired from Planet Express and when Hermes hires his replacement Annie, everyone seems to like her, especially Zoidberg. This is only part 1, so make sure you write to xkath and say &ldquoMore! More! MORE!”
Fangirl-ish urges. They happen.
Posted on April 28, 2009 by Tim
And when they do, some pretty neat Fan Art is apt to result. Like this one here by MissusPatches, and when I saw her description of it, I just knew I had to use it. Only problem is, she sent in a bunch of fan art, and I can only show one of them. Oh, wait ... * checks his webmaster's handbook * it doesn't actually say that anywhere, so why not - here's another one that I think deserves special attention - it's a birthday gift she drew for her friend, Sofie, who's another artist who has work on this site. (Happy B'day Sofie, whenever it was ). Check out the rest of MP's pics too - there's a really cute valentines one.
And we've also got a new Video Clips from DSS. This one's called Heroes 'cause it's set to Nickelback's Hero. It's a musical tribute to Bender, Fry, and Leela in heroic (and not so heroic) moments.
And last thing tonight, this goes out to Svip over at The Infosphere, with whom I've been chatting a lot lately (whoop!) - he really likes this exploding smiley and pointed out that I hadn't used it since April 10, 2008. So here it is: Maybe a couple more, since it has been a while.
Love Is About Giving Up Everything except stupid spam bots
Posted on April 27, 2009 by Tim
I'm going to lead off with a Fan Fiction today, or rather, part of a fan fic. It's Part 2 of a fic from Sasas that we introduced a couple of days ago called Love Is About Giving Up Everything . This new chapter is called A Promise is Made and in it Fry gets yelled at for snoozing on the couch at PE and his evening goes downhill from there. Meanwhile, Leela is having just the opposite kind of evening.
Now, just for fun, I thought I'd share a couple of things that have shown up in the mailbox here recently. They're basically spam barfed out by net-bots, but these have some amusing facets to them. The first one purports to come from one "Mr. David Johnston" and unlike most spam, this one wants to buy something from us, not the other way around. It reads “DEAR SIR/MADAM, THIS IS Mr. D. JOHNSON, AND I WILL LIKE TO KNOW IF YOU DO CARRY (fusion boiler) INSTOCK. IF POSSIBLE, I WILL LIKE TO KNOW THE TYPES AND SIZES ALSO WITH THEIR PRICES AS WELL. AND AGAIN LET ME KNOW IF YOU DO ACCERPT CREDIT CARD PAYMENT AS WELL. THANKS AND I WILL LIKE TO DO MORE BUSSINESS WITH YOU. HOPING TO SEE YOUR EMAIL SOON. BEST REGARDS Mr. D. JOHNSON”. Well Mr. D. Johnson, this is your lucky day because we'd like to give you the business too, and it just so happens that we are just way over stocked with (fusion boiler)s and we can fix you any way you like with quantity discounts as well. And yes, we'll take any sort of payment: cash, money orders, credit cards, wills, deeds, negotiable bonds, you name it.
The next one is even more bizarre - a bot representing a “Mike Ashton” writes: “I was wondering whether you would like to link to my site www(dot)frixo(dot)com from your page: www(dot)futurama-madhouse(dot)com(dot)ar/fanfic/hammer_itwby1(dot)shtml? Frixo is a road / motorway traffic reporting site and think it may be a useful resource for your readers. It gives users up to date information as the site gets updated every 3 minutes via feeds from various sources including the government's official Highways Agency site. Thank you for your consideration.“ Now the link they referenced is Hammer87's Fan Fic Into The Wild Black Yonder. What their bot found in there that it thought had anything to do with road & motorway traffic reporting I couldn't figure out, but whatever it is I would very much like to think that it's causing some bogus reports of detours in London. If you have any ideas, be sure to write us and tell us. Meanwhile, all of you Fan Fiction writers take note - Frixo would be a really great name for a really dumb robot character.
Goths and Geeks rule!
Posted on April 26, 2009 by Tim
So this is what Futurama would probably look like of FMMB's resident Emo were in charge of it instead of DXC. FrysBabyGirl drew these three pics of Goth Fry and Leela.
Now, talk about a dark and dusty corner of the Madhouse, here's one. No one's been in here since right after I came on board, and that's been nigh on three years ago. I practically had to go in with a flamethrower. It's our Desktop Themes page, where you'll find two new login screens for Windows XP, courtesy of MOrTaL-K. There's this generic Futurama one, and you Dr. Zoidberg fans will find one to your liking too. These only work with Windows XP and you'll have to download LogonStudio to install them.
And now for some things that are sorta different
Posted on April 25, 2009 by Tim
Dr. Zoidberg, whose name, for some reason, my stupid fingers can't type without an extraneous n, may be the most underrated character in all of Futurama. He doesn't get many lines, but the ones he does are usually real zingers. Karl Palmer thinks so, and he thinks the line from BBS where the good Doctor says to Hermes “I thought you were happy, your tail is wagging” is the best ever and so he whipped up this pic of Hermes from just that moment.
Now this is something completely different, and in more ways that one. It's a collection of Futurama Limericks - one for each of the main characters. A Limerick is sort of a poem, so I stuck it in the Poetry and Song Parodies section. The author, saying that they “just can't take all the adgulation“, asked to remain anonymous, so you can send flowers, cash, room keys, and other forms of “adgulation“ to Futurama-Madhouse, care of Tim.
Ok, Not just another Fry and Leela tribute video - it's a Lars, Leela, and Fry tribute. ... Uh, wait a sec ... I guess, to be technically correct, which is the best kind of correct, it IS a Leela and Fry tribute video. It's all so confusing, so you can watch it and figure it out. It's called Lars' Girl: A Fry, Leela, and Lars tribute and it's by DSS. It's set to the tune Jessie's Girl by what's his name .... Rick Springfield, yeah, that's it.

If you have a boring occupation, like this 80 plus hour a week “part time” job I have here at the Madhouse for instance, or if your work depends on computers and they go down, you gotta do something to fill the time. There's any number of things you could do; WhateverJames does cross stitch and he's back with Another Futurama Quote Cross Stitch Sampler! I'll just let him tell it: “This is from The Why of Fry and it is my absolute favorite line delivery by Billy West. I still laugh every time I see it. The red/blue/orange scheme is inspired by Fry. I originally posted at www.craftster.org and it's gotten some great feedback there so I wanted to share with my fellow Futurama fans too!As always, thanks for everything Futurama!” Obviously there's lots of our nerdlinger brethren over there who know a great ting when they see it. Check it out in Fan's Photos.
SoylentOrange probably thinks I forgot about this 'cause he sent in a bunch of music from Futurama about a bazillion light-seconds ago. But never fear, I get to all things eventually. Some just take longer than others. Mostly 'cause I'm lazy. So, over in the sounds clips section, you will find the following new songs freshly posted (be careful, the bits aren't quite dry yet): The Grunka Lunka song from Fry and the Slum Factory, How The Elves Saved Xmas from A Tale of Two Santas, Bee Happy from The Sting, and Fry's Opera from Devil's Hands.
And lastly, from down in our logical homeland, Argentina, comes a new Fan Fiction from Sasas. It's called Love Is About Giving Up Everything and it's about how Fry is the key to saving the man that Leela is going to marry. This causes Leela to rethink her feelings for Fry. The question is, will Leela let Fry sacrifice his own life to save that of the man she loves? Now this has the making of a really great fic, but it's only part 1, so everyone e-mail Sasas and urge shlim to send in more parts soon. Sasas also says “Long live Matt Groening and FM!” I'll drink to that.
Something old, something new, something borrowed, something "ewww!"
Posted on April 22, 2009 by Kenneth
And that last something would be this piece of Fan Art from Assistant Crone showing the Planet Express crew picking up the pieces after the mating frenzy on Decapod 10. Messy work indeed, though it did win her top prize at The Simpsons and Futurama Fanworks Central Art Competition for 2007, the theme of which was alternate career chips.
Which is why it's also something old, as well as something borrowed. Assistant Crone asked me to put it up when I asked if I could display something new of hers here titled "Another Way of Looking at Stuff," which you'll also find in her gallery. Featuring some gender-swapping, the picture was partially inspired by Parallel Lives by Graham Dawson, particuarly the name of the female Fry.
That's all for now. Until next time.
Bender has done something bad
Posted on April 22, 2009 by Tim
Now there's a revelation we never expected. And Futurama-Freak1, who drew this Fan Art, goes on to say “I don't know what but for whatever reason Leela is trying to impale him with a stop sign”. I sure would like to know what Bender said or did to get Leela to tear a Stop sign out by it's roots. Say, did anyone just hear tires squeal and a crashing noise? Anyway, while you're checking that one out, he's also got two more over on his Page 2, so be sure not to miss those too.
And then we have a rather unusual Fan Fiction. It's called Rush's Added Scenes. Take seven of your favorite episodes and write added scenes that follow up on what happened after the ends we saw.
Posted on April 21, 2009 by Tim
So the Bender's Game DVD has this really neat Genetics Lab where you could try combinations of the various characters - and most of the results are just wrong. Well, thanks to FrysBabyGirl we now have all (I think it's all) of the hideous mutations in the new Genetics Lab section at the bottom of the Frame Grabs page.
And speaking of FrysBabyGirl, here's part 3 of her Fan Fiction Izziee, in which Leela starts hatching dark and evil plots to separate Fry and Izziee.
And speaking of Fan Fictions and parts threes, here's another Part 3. This one is from DSS' fic The New Justice Teen Titans, in which the NJT and the Titans fight against an old villain of the Titans, Raven gets concerned about the NJT and their ways, and Super King catches Clobberella and Captain Yesterday making out.
The day Madhouse (almost) stood still.
Posted on April 20, 2009 by Tim
Yep, we dodged a bullet today. I was merrily uploading things as I often merrily do, when all of a sudden I received this very un-merry “disk quota exceeded” message. Man, talk about bringing your train of thought to a screeching halt. Anyway, we've been merrily piling up all these wunderful fan contributions at a regular pace right along and we finally hit a limit. So, we're off to talk to our hosting service (which probably will mean shoveling more money at them ), but meanwhile we cleaned out some stuff (no content) to make some room, so we're good to go. And just to show that we are sill in business, here's some new Fan Art from Karl Palmer. It's his take on what Bender would turn himself into if he played Metal Gear Solid 4.
Next is a one page Fan Comic. And despite being called Dreams DO Come True, it's not about Fry and Leela, or Kiff and Amy, or Bender and booze. No, it's SmokyGouda's genre bending tale of what might happen if a “What If” episode met Cryonic Woman.
This almost qualifies for the Real World Futurama photos that we gathered last summer. It's from a page on an old-timey calendar that Dingsda found. And there really was a Fry's Chocolate Co. Someone with actual artistic talent (meaning not me) should do an update on that - I'm picturing Fry and Zoindberg. While you're checking it out in Fan's Photos, you can also check out his other pic, which he says is a belated Hypnotoad celebrating Easter.
Endings and Beginnings
Posted on April 19, 2009 by Tim
Oh man, I spent the day doing heavy manual labor, something I'm not so used to, so I'm half asleep and everything I've tried to put up tonight seems like it's taking more effort than usual. But I managed to get these two Fan Fictions in place, so happy reading.
First up is a new fic called Fry Of Why. It's by Steven Gurman who is one of the head honchos over at FFF. This fic starts out with the gang mourning the death of one of their beloved crew members. But can it be true, is this crew member really dead? I guess you'll have to read it to find out, 'cause I ain't tellin'.
Second one, fry+leela4eva brings us part 2 of her fic, Proposal. I think she's leading up to something here.
Time keeps on slippin'
Posted on April 16, 2009 by Tim
And everything I looked at tonight turned challenging on me. So I gotta leave to go somewhere in 15 minutes and all I've managed so far is this one piece of Fan Art. It's from !iMmOrTaL! and it's called Amy as Gwen Stacey. Now if you're like me (semi-clueless), you're going “Who the H-Word is Gwen Stacey?”. So while the rest of you are laughing, I'll go one to explain that Gwendolyn “Gwen” Stacy is a character in Marvel Comics' Spider-Man series who's been dead since 1973. Or maybe not. Anyway, after giving the Wikipedia article the “be an expert on anything in 30 seconds“ read, she's kind of that genre's Leela. You know, the old will-they-or-won't-they, do-they-or-didn't-they kind of thing. And, as you might guess, !iMmOrTaL! is also a Spider-Man fan.
Isn't DSS some kind of satellite TV or something?
Posted on April 15, 2009 by Tim
It's kind of funny, it's usually feast of famine in the fan site business. A few days ago I was sitting here all caught up and thinking I could relax for a bit and before I knew it, Bam!, I've got another pile of work to do. And here's a guy (at least I'm pretty sure shlee's a guy) who accounts for about a fourth of it. It's DSS, who has hammered me with just about one of everything in the last few days. In fact, I was going to do an all-DSS update, but I ran out of time tonight, so it's still an all-DSS update, just not all of it.
So first up, if you're a fan of the blood and guts horror genre, here's Fan Fiction for you. It's called A Nightmare In NNYC and as you might guess, it's based on A nightmare On Elm St.. And if you're NOT a fan of the horror genre, you probably don't want to go read it.
DSS also sent along a new Song Parody. It's called Future People Have Feelings and it's set to the song Critters Have Feelings from the movie “Hoodwinked!”.
By the way, if any admins from CGEF and PEEL happen to see this, drop us a note (or post it on FMMB) and let us know why and for how long those sites are down. Your fans want to know and I don't have anything to tell them.
Posted on April 14, 2009 by Tim
Got another two-fer tonight, and I've been sitting on half of it for almost two months (and boy does my butt hurt). So first is the Fan Art which is by CosmicF. It's a promo pic for a new Fan Fiction from Frosty which is called The Time Travel Factor. It's a Futurama/Big Bang Theory crossover, and a really funny one at that. It's the story of what happens when a time machine strands the Big Bang crew in the Planet Express lounge.
And finally I've got the last few parts of Rush Moon put up. Unfortunately that doesn't mean it's finished. Oh my no, that's just all that JustNibblin' has written and sent in so far. So we'll just have to wait a while to see where this goes. But what we have is really good - imagine if you will a Fry, who's not-quite-right mind is even more not quite righter than usual, who robs a bank and then makes a hilarious getaway, then gets caught, then gets away - Well, it'll keep you up all night reading it (so I've heard). The latest starts on part 21.
So that's what they're up to!
Posted on April 13, 2009 by Tim
It took a little longer than expected because it's been a rough month in !iMmOrTaL! land, but that didn't stop our erstwhile artiste extrordinare from sending in 10 more pages of that longest of the long fan comics, The Wong Side Of The Law. The newest starts on page 122. If you'd like to talk about this comic, there's a thread on FMMB just for that. And after the aforementioned rough month I'm sure !iMmOrTaL! could use a kind word or two.
And in more bizarre finds on the Internet - I swear I'm not intentionally looking for this stuff - I ran across references to a Unix Shell called Zoidberg. It's funny because it's a shell. Ha ha, get it? Zoidberg - shell. Ok, I guess you gotta be a real computer nerd, and I've got to get out of the basement more often. Anyway, it looks like the shell came into being about 2005 so I think we can safely conclude the developer is a fan.
Bunnies and Dogs and Nuts, oh my!
Posted on April 12, 2009 by Tim
It's Easter Sunday and regardless of whether your opinion on that ranges from devout observance to “may the fleas of a thousand camels infest the infidels armpits” to just plain “meh”, I'm sure that one thing we can all agree on is that this kind of Easter Bunny and Easter Eggs are just the ticket. It's some new Fan Art from PrettyP, who wishes everyone a Happy Easter, or just a super happy Sunday if you don't celebrate!
Over in Fan Fiction there's a new one by Rush. It's called Frozen Bark and it's set in an alternate Futuramaverse on January 1st, 2000, when Fry's dog Seymour gets frozen and sent to the future (aka year 3000). Rush also goes to the unusual length of granting permission for other to extend his fic, see the author's notes in the fic itself.
And this last bit is just kind of off the wall, but I had to mention it. I was on Wikipedia earlier and noticed that the British Parliament had passed a law called the Madhouses Act. I was all excited for a second there, thinking that maybe we were getting some official recognition or something, but then I noticed that this was in 1774 and pertains to homes for the insane, which clearly has nothing to with this site. No. Uh-uh.
The Saturday shippies
Posted on April 11, 2009 by Tim
I can say that 'cause even though it's still Friday for a couple of hours where I am, it's technically Saturday in FM/TLZ time. I also call it that 'cause we've got a serious case of Shippy overload here tonight. So let's start out with a new Fan Video. It's from Seymour My Hero and it's called Fry and Leela: Love Story and by a remarkable coincidence, it's set to Love Story by Taylor Swift. You can watch it on YouTube and if you want to keep a copy, down load it from us.
Now it's really hard to call it shippy when someone's shooting a gun at you, punching you in the face, tossing you out a window, turning you in to the authorities, and eventually hunting you. But this is Fry we are talking about here, and even though Leela is doing (or going to be doing) all of those things to him, he still keeps the faith. It's mostly all in the next six chapters (nos 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20) of Just Nibblin's Fan Fiction Rush Moon.
Now I think we can all agree that there's nothing shippier that this scene right here, which is exactly where the long awaited part 4 of MC's The Ties That Bind starts off. But then the going gets tough, because after spending the afternoon together, Fry and Leela learn the hard way that a lasting relationship is about more than just passionate snu-snu. After finally finding each other again, can they keep from pulling themselves apart?
If they don't bring Futurama back, we're gonna get 24th century on their asses!
Posted on April 9, 2009 by Tim
That's right. We'll rise up in another Anthology of Interest, make a 500 foot (152m) tall Bender, and send him to “discuss” it with U no who. But until there's some news forthcoming on that front, we'll just have to fantasize about it. And here to help with that is a some new Fan Art of exactly that scenario from CrystalMask.
The Fan Fiction is rolling in faster than body parts on a Dacapod 10 beach right after the mating ritual so we'd better take care of some of that. First up is a new one from Rush. It's called The Prophecy With No Prophecy. It starts out with our crew on Osiris 4 and asks the question “What if Bender was caught in the act trying to become Pharaoh in Pharaoh To Remember, plus some other things?”. And then, in Rush's trademark fashion, it goes on to answer that question, and takes some surprising turns doing so.
And then the crew reprise their New Justice Team roles once again in part 2 of DSS' New Justice Teen Titans. You may recall from part 1 that the crew got transported back to the stupid ages so they spend their first day with the Teen Titans. Also, Clobberella reveals some interest in Captain Yesterday and The Zookeeper begins making his dastardly plans.
You Loose, I'm rich, Ha Ha.

Looking through the News Archives, I see that it is not unusual for a webmaster to pontificate on the doings of the local sports team from time to time. Now I've never seen the attraction of chasing one or more various sized balls around, but I do know that there are many people who take this stuff seriously and I have learned that one of the similarities between European sports and American sports is that we both riot when we loose, except instead of trampling the people from the other state, we just burn furniture and police cars. So, not mentioning any names 'cause I have to work with some of these people, suffice to say the local team got whooped in the “ big game” yesterday. And as a friend of mine says "Always bet against the home team in the clinch". But I will take a break from counting my cash because we have a couple of Fan Fictions, and really good ones at that.
First is one called Meeting of the Mind by MC. This was actually the first fic he published on FMMB back last summer, except that I was on one of my pilgrimages to the land the Internet forgot and missed it. Thanks to Hammer87 I found it though and coerced MC into sending it in. Now that title is not a typo - it is Mind - singular. And that's because during the crew's misadventures in Universe 1, Fry gets some advice about dealing with Leela from an expert source: himself.
And the other thing is four more parts to Just Nibblin's Rush Moon, nos eleven, twelve, thirteen, and fourteen. Make especially sure you read the warning at the beginning of 13 so you won't be too surprised when ... uh ... stuff happens.
The Future is Possible.
Posted on April 7, 2009 by Tim
Of course, if you frequent this site, you are above average intelligence and already know that. So todays theme is crossovers, and first is this Fan Art that's got Fry, Leela, Bender, and the Professor in the Kim Possible style. Smokey Gouda drew it, and he says “Yep, I drew a Futurama/Kim Possible crossover, with Fry as Ron, Leela as Kim, Bender as Rufus, and the Professor as Wade. Why, you ask? Well, I got the idea about a week ago, and since both shows are amazing and Fry and Leela and Ron and Kim are parallel in many ways, I decided it would be fun to draw this picture. And I have to admit, there's nothing quite like drawing Bender as a naked mole rat robot.”. I gotta give ya that last one for sure.
Xover day continues as Bender, Fry, and (somewhat reluctantly) Leela are back in action as the New Justice Team in part 1 of DSS' latest Fan Fiction called New Justice Teen Titans. Do I really need to say that it's a crossover of Futurama and Danger Mouse? Nah, I'm just yanking your chain, it's 'rama and the Teen Titans. You see, the nefarious Zookeeper is back and when he and the New Justice Team end up in a time travel screw-up, the NJT meets the Teen Titans and fights against The Zookeeper and his plan to dominate the planet.
Good Newses, Everyone
Posted on April 6, 2009 by Tim
What's Leela listening to now you wonder? Maybe some more of the Music of Futurama. Thanks again to SoylentOrange, we've got three more clips of songs from the series. There's Born To Be A Bureaucrat from How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back, Pop A Poppler In Your Mouth from The Problem With Popplers, and TV Party Tonight from Bender Should Not Be Allowed On TV. Also, Brian wrote looking for a clip of Professor Farnsworth's trademark line “Good News, Everyone” and just like Planet Express, Futurama Madhouse delivers - here it is under the brand new Miscellaneous header. It's all the Sound Clips section, along with all the great stuff that's been there all along.
And over in Fan Fiction, there's four more chapters of JustNibblin's fic Rush Moon. That's ten so far. Moss-e noticed the new ones a bit ago; he wrote “its pretty damn good!” and asked if there was more. And I'm happy to report that it is “pretty damn good!” and that there is more - lots more. JN has sent me 27 chapters so far, and it's gonna take me a little while to get them all put up. Also, as I understand it, those 27 chapters are only about two thirds of the whole fic. For those that are in a rush you can read ahead on FMMB.
Posted on April 5, 2009 by Tim
Ok, I know it really should be “They're boned”, but today hosed is the better fit. First, Leela's hosed in some Fan Art from Futurama-Freak1. It's called "Apex Garden Hose". You'll remember it as the hose Leela sprayed Yivo with in Beast With A Billion Backs, well here is another take on it.
Ok, now it's Fry's turn to get hosed, as in the “pretty much anything or anybody really messed up” kind of hosed. There's actually a more descriptive term for it, but I can't use it here. Suffice to say that in this Fan Fiction by Just Nibblin, Fry is royally hosed. It's called Rush Moon, and we have the first six chapters up so far. So what happens is Fry shows up for work one day, strangely finding that everyone else thinks he's been gone for a year. Finding that he no longer has a job, the bewildered Fry is troubled by weird visions and surprised to find that Leela hates him. Reuniting with Bender, he tries to figure out what happened while a series of misadventures finds them on the run from the law, DOOP, and a cadre of bounty hunters.
Numbers and notes

So being as it's about 0200 UTC as I type this, that means that it's Thursday in the FM/TLZ timezone. But where I'm at it's still Wednesday, April 1 for another couple of hours, which mean that I can either do some kind of lame April fools day joke or this. I choose this (or maybe both) - Here in my part of the world we write dates like this: mm/dd/yyyy, so todays (meaning yesterdays) date can be written 4/01/2009, or 4012009 if we're a computer or just being lazy or are really bored of sitting in the bowels of a ship. The later is most likely the case for Flounder, as he called it to my attention as a fellow nerdlinger first class, that todays date is the perfect square of 2003. Yes, that's right, 20032 = 04012009. Grab a calculator and check it out. Just a little math trivia to brighten your day, just like Bender and Flexo's serial numbers.
Ok, enough with the ancient Egyptian algebra already, back to biz. Over in the Sound Clips section, we've got some more of the Music of Futurama. SoylentOrange cropped a bunch of it and I'm slowly getting it put up. Tonight, wes gots three from Bender's Big Score, the opening and closing themes, and the music from Leela and Lars' little interlude.
After three years I finally nailed the right day!

Everyone knows, or at least I would hope that most everyone who visits this site knows, that a couple of days ago we celebrated the 10th anniversary of the first broadcast of Futurama. Fewer people are probably aware that today is a special day also. Now by “special” I don't mean like Fry's mind. Or maybe I do. You can decide that for yourself. Anyway, what's special about today, 1 April 2009, is that 9 years ago today, our very own Leandro rescued The Leela Zone from the the bit bucket of history and started it on it's way to becoming The Oldest Living Futurama Fansite. So Huzzahs for Leandro! Check out what that first reborn TLZ looked like in the Layout Museum.
Meanwhile, business is booming, so here's some new Fan Art. It's by SmokyGouda and I think I'll just let him tell it: “I cranked out another art after watching BWABB yesterday in celebration of Futurama's birthday. I know that Fry really should be wearing his pope outfit, but I didn't have a picture to reference nearby at the time, and if I didn't get his clothes drawn completely accurately it would just be awful. So, for continuity's sake, I threw continuity out the window and drew him in his shirt and jeans. I also gave him bare feet. And although I originally had the idea that Fry was flinching for obvious reasons, the more I looked at it the more I thought that it looked as if he was suffering excruciating pain. So I've stopped staring at it. I think it's just me...right? Or should I just always stop a sentence earlier?” Nah, you're doing fine.
Bet you can't guess what episode is one of PrettyP's favorites. Which reminds me, thinking about this episode, they really snuck one in under our radar - Fry actually DID get Leela to go out on a date with him.
