Please ask about our update subject line contest

Just a quick update from me today, since I've been quite busy lately after finally having found some employment after being used to the life of an IT student. I bring you some new Fan Art from recent FM:TLZ artist Fryluvr, who has two new pictures. The first (pictured here) shows her living up to her name, while the second shows what Bender would look like if he were some kind of a dog/wolf creature.
And... well, that about covers it actually. Though apologies to Fryluver and any other artists who sent me stuff over the past month, but it was late going up. I'm starting to settle into things more now, so I'll try to get any future content up sooner from now on.
Fan works from around the world...

Well, first I'd like to congratulate Graham. Despite considerable problems keeping Villareal at bay, including a penalty in the final minutes, Arsenal is through to the Champions League final.
Speaking of football (the original, not the one where you use your hands ); one major difference from last World Cup is the football-loving webmasters outnumber the opposition at least 2 (points at self, points at Graham) to 1 (points at Leandro). Ofcourse I'll probably just be the loud guy in the background complaining/contemplating why Denmark (#11 on the latest FIFA World Ranking) didn't get invited, but Togo did. Meh, guess I'll have to throw my support behind the Czech Republic then.
Anyway, I guess I should introduce the content of this update. I mean, as entertaining as my rantings can be, that's really not why you bought the ticket, right? What? You didn't buy a ticket? SECURITY!! ... Okay, now that's taken care of, let's welcome Heavin, our latest member of the Fan Art section, hailing from the beautiful country of Korea. Heavin's sent us 4 animated pictures. Since they are animated (and pretty damn flawless in quality ), they are somewhat larger filesize-wise than the average Fan Art. Now you're warned, but still I think you'll find the animations worth the time.
Okay, second part is the conclusion of Genocidal Smasher & Philibuster's Fan Comic titled "Absinthe Makes the Heart Grow Fonder". After Fry left Planet Express to join a music band, Leela felt a little depressed. Bender, the lovable rascal, have just the thing she needs to cheer up. Meanwhile, Fry discovers that one of the concerts of his new band take place on Earth. How will he react when he sees his friends again? You can find out here.
This will be me tonight, while watching football...
Posted on April 25, 2006 by Graham
*Looks to see if Leandro is reading* Good, it's clear. Yes, I will be like Bender in the picture you can see to your right. Well, other than the metal skin, I will be watching football tonight with a few bottles of beer. That's proper football, BTW. Well, my team, Arsenal, will be playing to get to the final of the European Champions League, going to the second leg with a 1-0 lead against Villareal. *Spots Leandro coming, holding a baseball bat* Hmm... Leandro isn't into baseball. Oh, wait, I better stop boring you all. Well, I have two new contributors for our Fan Art section, which is always a good thing to see. First up is Kathryn, who has sent in four pictures. The picture you can see to your right shows me doing what I'll be doing tonight... I mean it shows Bender drinking and having a good time. Whew! While other pictures show Fry having fun and losing money, while another pic shows Leela ready to feed Nibbler with his favourite tinned snack. Talking about favourites, I'll be enjoying my favourite team tonight while having a beer in my hand... *Sounds of violence* OK... OK... I'll continue. Sheesh!
Next up, I have another picture from another new contributor for our Fan Art section, as I mentioned above. The new guy is FryGuy, who has come up with this hand-drawn picture of Fry, Leela and Bender. Now, if you click on the thumbnail and view the picture in its entirety, you'll notice that it contains more than the thumbnail shows, and that it has actual words. Yes, it's a story within a picture. Mind you, it seems like a bitter-sweet type of thing, because they seem to be in trouble, but romance is in the air. Pity for them, they could have come around to watch Villareal Vs Arsenal tonight, sharing some beers with me. *More violence and several ouches* OK, time to call the ambulance. Maybe the hospital has TVs in its wards.
BTW, as you've gathered, Leandro hates football with a passion. Mind you, the World Cup is coming up... might be time to do what happened in 2002. *Sound of ambulance pulling away with sirens wailing*

OK, I've got some work for you this Saturday, so go and get a drink, sit down, and keep your eyes peeled. Now, let's see how I can write this message after watching Mrs Brown, a period drama with Judi Dench and Billy Connolly, which deals with Queen Victoria's relationship with a certain John Brown, who accompanies her while riding and brings her out of her melancholy after her loss of her husband some years before. I'm not really a period drama fan, nor am I that interested in the stories of kings and queens, but I had to admire Billy Connolly's performance, which was quite captivating. OK, has my rambling given you enough time for that drink and got you sat down? Good. I have a work for our Fan Art section that comes from veteran Robert Hawks. He has come up with eight new pictures, some of which are based on scenes in Futurama episodes, and one is quite cheeky, literally. I'll let you go and see why there's a cheeky picture, so I won't spoil the fun for you by having it as a thumbnail to your right. Instead, bow down to the almighty bobbleheads. You know they make sense.
Next up, I have something quite different. Yes, there is more and I'm not about to inform you about the French film I'm trying to keep an eye on, because that'd bore you to death and you still haven't finished that drink. So, let's continue. I have some more work, but this time from Cherokee, who has kindly sent in some hand-drawn pictures for our Fan Art section. Both pictures are of Leela, and are actually quite cute. It seems that Cherokee has her own style, which is always helpful to have. Anyway, enjoy the work of Cherokee's, and maybe she'll come up with some more. Now, off to watch this French film... I mean read it.
I know you would love to go to the ball. And so you shall!
Posted on April 13, 2006 by Graham
Just look at her. She's ready to go to a ball, organised by someone or other, she's all dolled up and ready, yet she's not got anyone to accompany her. Oh well, that's life, I suppose. Still, at least the ball might present an opportunity or two... or maybe Fry will mysteriously turn up. Anyway, enough of my rambling, and onto telling you more about this picture you can see to your right. The picture comes from a first-time sumbitter to this site, who's called Kiki, and has sent in this work for our Fan Art section. Well, it's good to see that a first time submission produces some nice hand created stuff, so more of this will be welcome if it comes. Well, let's look forward to more stuff from Kiki. Now, back to wondering how I've pulled a muscle in my leg. I'm certainly not going to the ball tonight.
Do not disturb!
Posted on April 8, 2006 by Graham
Looks like Leela isn't in a mood that's likely to want to be disturbed, because she looks quite engrossed with some problem or other. Guess it's Fry, Zapp or what litter Nibbler should be using. Well, the picture you can see to your right comes from Leila and goes into our Fan Art section. It seems that Leila has been away for a while, so it's good to see that she's still about and contributing Futurama artwork. However, whether Leela thinks so or not might not be at the forefront of her mind, because it seems that life's woes are what's concerning her. Poor thing. Now all we need is for Amy, Bender or Cubert to enter the picture. I'm sure that would make her day.
Creativity .... something I don't have...
Posted on April 4, 2006 by Teral
After staring at the screen for 10 minutes without being able to come up with a funny heading, or even a lame one, I decide to call 'em like I sees 'em! I'm a whale biologist .... damnit! There it was, my funny headline. Oh, well seeing as I'm already in my pajamas .. and have pressed "submit" on the update, I might as well give up and flee for the hills.
Anyway, someone who aren't short on creativity is Genocidal Smasher and Philibuster. Apart from their unique names, they've also created another 10 pages of their Fan Comic titled Absinthe Makes the Heart Grow Fonder. In these new pages, Fry contemplates a carrer change, while Bender finds a new way of making a quick buck during a mission. You can skip right to the new pages by clicking here. Enjoy.
We've been here six years and all I got to show for it is this lousy update?
Today marks the sixth reopening anniversary, and it passes by rather unnoticed, with no layout changes, no jokes, no major fuzz. Just the quiet realization that we lasted another year with the series gone, and it seems like we'll still be here for a while, with slow paced updates, but ready to spring back in action whenever the series makes a comeback.
Good job, TLZ'ers!
In this little update, I updated the Oekaki Archive to include the newest works from Frinny, Shadow, Smiley Face and Jyaban. Thank you for your work, guys, and helping this little corner of the web devoted to Futurama grow a little larger every day.
Merry Xmas, everybody! May your day be a happy and bloody one! Ho-ho-ho!

|OK, I suspect you're thinking that the subject heading is a lame April Fool's joke that I concocted up when I realised that it was getting a bit late to come up with a joke. Come on, surely you expect better than that! OK, maybe not, but I do try... I do. I mean, trying to fob off our visitors by pretending it to be Xmas when it's April Fool's Day. Is that what you expect of me? Sheesh! Anyway, April Fool's Day has been abandoned here, because we're just too lazy to come up with anything that would hoodwink you. Onto proper business, though. The reason why it's Xmas Day here is because Tyrie2001 has come up video clip that deals with this very, very special day. The clip is called "The Day Santa Went Crazy", which features moments when Robot Santa goes ape on various Futurama characters, all done to the backing music of Weird Al Yankovic's "The Day Santa Went Crazy". Crazy clip, crazy song, crazy day. Now, go and enjoy April Fool's Day, fools. ||
