Lived Long and Prospered
Posted on February 27, 2015 by Graham
Sad news today. I've just heard about the death of Leonard Nimoy at the age of 83, a name who'll forever be on the lips of any science fiction fan and beyond. His most iconic role was that of Mr Spock from the original series of Star Trek, as well as the films. That's what he'll mostly be remembered for by most. However, he was in a few other roles, which got overshadowed, like playing Dr Kibner in the 1978 remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, a remake that certainly doesn't embarrass the original (improves it, in my view), as well as some singing about hobbits and whatnot. However, he was also in Futurama, having a role in the first episode, Space Pilot 3000, as well as the parody of Star Trek episode, Where No Fan Has Gone Before. So, I'd like to express this site's sorrow for the loss of such an iconic actor who has given us so many memories that'll endure. May he rest in peace.
Nailed it?

It seems like I should be saving this for a holiday of some kind but we don't really have any coming up soon so I'm just gonna toss this out there. It's (obviously) Zoidberg Jesus nailed to the cross. It's new Fan Art by Spaceman130.

Over in the Fan Fiction section part 12 of Dwayne Anderson's Space Ace Doofus is up. Catch up on Fry's AU adventures as he tries to level up in a popular new video game after getting his wires crossed with one of the Professor's malfunctioning new inventions.
It's raining vampires

Wow, almost three weeks without an update. It's like 2005 all over again when Graham was threatening to shoot all of us with his crossbow of doom. It has been pretty quiet here in the boiler room of the Madhouse, only one thing's been slipped through the mail slot and through a combination of Real Life and sheer laziness it's taken me a “few days” to even get that done, so maybe it's a good thing it's kind of quiet right now. Or not. Anyway, got one tasty new Fan Fiction here. It's from Spaceman130 and it's called Vengeance is Called Upon Thee. As with his previous works, this one was inspired by the PlayStation 3 game Vampire Rain: Altered Species. Each one to be based on an individual mission and each mission ends with a cliffhanger. In this one Fry, Leela, and Hermes go on a mission to terminate James Smith, the walker who killed Leela's mother in Falling Rain, Spilling Blood (his first fic). However, James turns out to be nearly invincible. Can the team put an end to James's reign of terror? Or will James have the last laugh?
